Lounging about in Legion · 12:45am Sep 9th, 2016
Don't call it a comeback....WoW's been here for years.
There were some serious questions at the end of Warlords about where WoW was going to go from there. The player base was hovering somewhere between apathetic and pissed, staring down a Sahara sized lack of content. The YouTube WoW scene was particularly vicious, with some of the personalities there releasing many swear laden videos about how WoW was "dying" and how much Blizzard sucked.
I was almost there with em. Warlords of Draenor was....bad. Boredom quickly set in and I found myself not playing for weeks at a time, because I had no reason to log in. And the story was this lame duck of an alternate universe, that seemed like it had been cooked up solely to bring a bunch of dead characters back into the setting. I know that some people still hate Mists of Pandaria more, because of the Pandaren, but those people are wrong.
Enter Legion.
The design philosophy in Legion seems to be the complete opposite of what it was in Warlords. Once you hit max level of 110, the zones are now almost packed with content thanks to the new World Quest content. They're almost always popping up in the zones, providing a variety of rewards from gear, to crafting materials, to things that power the big shiny features of the expansion your artifact weapons and plenty more. I find myself almost wandering from quest to quest in this natural flow, chasing objectives as they come to me. It's an almost zen like way to do content right now.
The new zones are also gorgeous. I've been collecting screenshots as I play. If you guys are interested, I can share some of them on the blog here over the weekend. But if you left WoW for whatever reason? This is the expansion to consider coming back on.
I know that it is early to judge since we are only nine days in, but Legion is so great.
