Good afternoon fillies and gentlecolts!
Novel Idea here with something cool for you. No, it’s not related to Gardens of Equestria (though cool things are always happening here at the Manehattan Project). This one is all about these stories you’ve been seeing lately.
Well, now that you’ve had the second in the series of short stories set in an alternate timeline where the Sonic Rainboom didn’t happen, I decided to do a bit of cleanup, worldbuilding and general maintenance.
Heck, I even used Aeon Timeline 2 to create a full-blown timeline of every event set in this alternate reality. I’ve got something like a dozen stories listed in there now. It’s crazy the ideas that come to me.
Now, if I could just get them to write themselves. Well, that’s not going to happen!
You’ve probably noticed both Applications and Bell Curve are both named after books that are featured in some way in the story itself. Well, I admit I struck on this idea very early on while I was writing Applications. You’ve probably figured this out already, but yes, every story set in this timeline will be named after a pertinent book featured in that story.
But I realized something. Shattered Dawn doesn’t follow that naming convention. And I’m big on consistency. So that needed to change.
So I have redubbed the novel formerly known as Shattered Dawn as Wavelength Theorems and this particular timeline to be known as the Wavelength Timeline. Now, why is it called Wavelength Theorems? Well, you’ll have to wait and see.
However, I will say I have recently been doing research into quantum theory in regard to the events in Wavelength Theorems. Make of that what you will.
Now, to celebrate this reveal, I have a new cover for you. While it’s not absurdly different from the one you’re familiar with for Shattered Dawn, I think this one looks snazzier. It feels a bit more epic, a bit more exciting and more. While I still hope to have a true custom cover done, that won't be done until the book is ready to be released.
Now, you’re probably wondering about the next story.
Well, at the end of Bell Curve, I said the next story was going to be How Not To Use Your Royal Prerogative. I ended up running into a wall with that story, primarily because I think I was trying to tie two plots together that didn’t want to play nicely with one another. So I decided to shelve the story for the time being and do something else. I needed to step away and attack the story from a new angle, but I still needed to write something!
Princess Celestia: A Brief History tells the story of the day after Applications. You’ll get to see just some of the stuff that was hinted at, reveal a bit more about Sunset’s past and Twilight’s past and see just how awkward Twilight can be (Spoiler alert: She can be pretty awkward).
It’s also an attempt at making a real comedy story, something I struggle with. I just don’t have a talent when it comes to pure comedy, but it’s something I want to work on, so you’re going to get to see the results of that, for better or for worse!
I don’t have a cover for this one yet, so you’ll just have to trust me on this. But I am in the last chapter and it will soon go out to beta readers (I hope). That’s me praying that Legion doesn’t distract me too much.
Speaking of Legion, I'm looking to get together with a group of Alliance players for Dungeons runs. I refuse to PUG such an amazing story-driven experience like Legion for my first run through, so if you're interested, let me know!

Yay, glad to have a name for this particular timeline now. Hm, the Wavelenght timeline, huh? Well, looking forward more to what else is different (and what's still the same) in this different world. Celestia is always planning, Sunset probably still has a long way to go, and it'll probably all come together on a certain night.
