    The Kiwi Farm

To amuse myself, I rewrote the conspiracy rant from Kiwi Farms' owner Joshua Moon (source: Kotaku) into a ponified feel-good newspaper article.
    Enjoy!

    Adoptable Idea 15

While helping another author edit their story, I came up with an alternative idea for how their character reached Equestria. They ended up not using it, so I'm reposting it here. I may have borrowed some of it from Machinations of a Trickster by Deviance and

    HiE one-shot

I had this idea to ponify an old Flash animation (now a YouTube video, available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guUnErBM5Bc ).

This is what I came up with. Maybe if I put in a little more work, I could easily build this story up with more words to meet the 1000-word minimum and submit this as a story.

    Adoptable idea 13

Finally made it to lucky number thirteen. For some reason, I prefer and have absolutely no trouble writing introductions. But when it comes down to actually doing more than that, I don't know... Maybe I just don't like seeing things complete. Maybe some deep seeded fear of absolute finality, of closure. Who knows, really?

I think that this is the last bit of the story I have written that I'm willing to spoil.

Changling story intro · 3:45am Jul 18th, 2016

Sometime I write things. Half-formed ideas that rattle around in my head until they pour out like so much sand. Things not long enough to be stories on their own. This is one of those things.

----- Setting -----
River Street.
Rain so misty it was as much fog as it was rain. For it to be any more humid you'd have to be under water.
It was early morning.
Three weeks after the wedding of Princess Candence and Captain Shining Armor.
Citizens were still finding individual changlings, but most were dead or had fled by the time the Royal Guard arrived.
Twilight Sparkle rode along with Princess Luna along the cobblestone streets to stop
Across the road, Twilight noticed a few Royal Guards stood at either side of the entrance to a dingy alley between Pamper Premium Furniture and Gleco's Gelato and Icecream Confectionary.
A space so narrow one could trot by it every day to pick up groceries from the town market and never notice it.

----- Story -----

The Changling lay motionless between a couple of upturned trash cans, still curled up in the same position it was found. From where she was, Twilight could see it was still breathing, but only just. Carefully, Princess Luna approached the otherwise motionless creatures and stopped.

"I have a proposition for you," Luna stated, her voice sharp and clear above the ambient staccato of the weather. "Your queen has failed her invasion of Canterlot. She and most of her army has been flung out of equestria to parts unknown. You now have a choice to make. The royal guard can quarantine the alleyway. You can lay here, sad, scared, alone, a disgrace and failure, and wait to die from either your wounds or starvation. Once you pass, We will wait one day to make absolutely sure you're dead. You will then be given the standard war-time funeral service where your body will be cremated and the ashes spread in a field just outside of Ponyville."
The Changling made no attempt to move or acknowledge Princess's statement.

Luna cleared her throat. "But you might prefer this other option. You can come with us. You will not be held accountable for your actions during the siege of Canterlot. Your crimes against equestria will be fully pardoned. You will be under my protection. You will go with Twilight Sparkle. She will shelter you, feed you, take care of you, and if necessary, clothe you. She will be your queen and you will be her hive.

"So, what say you, Changling? Will you give up and just lay amongst the trash until you die, or will you live up to your namesake and prove that a Changling can, in fact, actually change? You are to make up your mind now as the offer expires when We leave as We do not have the luxury to wait all day. If you are too weak to speak or nod your head, just simply blink twice and We will take good care of you, otherwise do nothing and We shall leave. "

The chest of the Changling rose and fell, it's breath coming out in soft, shallow rasps.
It's left eye slowly closed, the other only making it almost halfway, before they both opened again. It was uneven but Twilight was certain she saw the Changling blink.
Then the action repeated. Two blinks, she was absolutely sure of it.

"You have made a wise decision, Changling." Princess Luna turned to go. "Come, Twilight, the Guard will take the Changling to the local medical centre. You will wait for it to recover there."

They both left the alleyway, boarded Luna's chariot and made their way across town.
