Colds suck.
I'll probably be out of commission for a few days. See you all on the flip side.
On the plus side, I just discovered the cartoon "Miraculous Ladybug," and it's proving to be quite enjoyable sick-in-bed TV. I'm up to Episode 17 (so no spoilers for later in the series in the comments, please!) Very easy to think up darkfic ideas for it too:
1. Ladybug takes advantage of the 'everything resets once she de-evils the evil butterfly' mechanic by taking out a bad guy, trapping-but-not-killing his butterfly, and spending a few weeks lounging around in hedonistic bliss without having to worry about schoolwork or whatever. After all, everything'll be back to normal once she finishes the job, and the bad guy's victims who were brainwashed/teleported into space/turned into jelly doughnuts or whatever won't remember or have any trace of what happened, so it's basically like it never did.) Maybe it climaxes with Chat Noir fighting her to force her to do her job and de-evil the evil butterfly.
2. Alya learns Ladybug's secret identify as her best friend and gets really upset that Ladybug basically gaslit her for the entire series thus far. She is especially furious that Ladybug never told her that she was briefly a brainwashed minion of Hawkmoth; she (Alya) lost several hours of her life and could have died or killed someone, but Ladybug kept that hidden from her for some reason. Loss of friendship ensues.
3. Alya regains her Lady Wifi powers and decides she likes having them because she can teleport anywhere in the world by going through the wireless networks, can magically summon cameras to record things perfectly without needing to bring expensive hardware with her, can rewind her life if she bungles something a la Life Is Strange, etc. Ladybug doesn't want her to be Wifi anymore because she's afraid Alya will go evil again; Alya increasingly suspects Ladybug is jealous and just doesn't want anyone besides her or Chat Noir to have powers. Ladybug increasingly tries to interfere with Alya's/Wifi's life, but her attempts to do so just alienate the public, and when Ladybug slips up and reveals her real identity, Alya is furious (as in #2 above). Wifi thus becomes one of Ladybug's most dangerous foes.
I'm sure I'll think up more darkfic-ish ideas later.. .for now I need to sleep for about fourteen hours to try to de-cold myself. Later!
