I've never been so hyped for a chapter in my life.

Alright, first off:

Spoilers for Memoirs of a Magic Earthpony's chapter 47 are present here! Yada yada you have been warned.

So yeah, this was an interesting chapter and I've been plotting the scene for weeks and weeks on end. I had about 100 different ways to show Amethyst's true colors because a LOT of personal development has been going on in her behind the scenes. (I could probably write a small novel on it to be honest) but the point of this blog is that this chapter is one of the most hype chapters I've ever had. I was literally crying in parts as I wrote Starswirl's lines because I know what he would have tended towards if I hadn't.

One funny instance that would have totally broken the chapter was me just having Amethyst appear beside him as he's underneath the awning and just saying something like "Well this is a bit drier" and him jumping out into the street and screaming "What the FUCK!" I laughed way too hard at that when I was writing that scene.

Basically, this is a plot point that I thought about a long time ago, finally we're getting somewhere! So many more things have yet to happen, and I'm so freaking excited I get to keep doing this.

Oh! Also, I've got something to show you guys. I commissioned a piece of Amethyst from bloodorangepancakes.

Press and hold Ctrl and U to bring up the View Page Source. (Or right click on the page and click on View Page Source.) Then press and hold Ctrl and F to open the Find bar and search for bloodorangepancakes. As soon as you see bloodorangepancakes, look under that to see the image and then you can open that up on another tab.
