What is it that causes the Soul to ascend up to the Gods and the Perfect Realm of Beauty and the One from Whom all Things Come, the One From Whom Emanated the Two That Became the Many? It is Love. Love was the first God to be born from the Primal Chaos in which dwell the Fomorians, the Bringers of Chaos. It was the Primal Love that united Heaven and Earth and from that union came the sacred tree Bile from whence my ancestor Mil came forth. Sexual Love courses through the Universe, the Great Web in which are all things. The Universe is charged with sexual energy. The erotic is the sacred and woe to the one who uses sex as a weapon. It is Love that causes the Gods to pour out their blessings according to the Neoplatonic philosopher Iamblichus. Their Blessings cause the Soul to strive upwards towards their realm. This upward striving is made manifest through the giving of offerings as a sign of gratitude. The offerings cause the Gods to draw near to us even as the Soul strives upward to them. All is connected in the Great Web.
