Casting Call: OCs needed! · 12:29am Jul 7th, 2016
If you're currently reading All's Fair in Love & War, I need some OCs and also a name for a side character that I already have fleshed out (or as fleshed out you can have a newborn colt be).
This story is heavily guard/military centered, so I mostly need royal guards and other military personnel.
Remember that this fic is set almost 20 years before Luna's return, so while there is the night guard, there isn't necessarily a Lunar Guard, just the Solar guard.
I have openings for Army, Navy, Wonderbolt, Royal Guard. In my universe (in this particular story), the Royal Guard has 3 sub-categories, Day, Night and Celestia's personal guard (aka the Solar guard)
I will need the name, gender, age, Cutie Mark, pony race, colors (eye, coat, mane/tail), which military division your OC is in, their rank , a physical description and a short bio which includes their personality, where in Equestria they are from, and anything else you feel is important.. I would also like to have a visual of your pony, be it a drawing or made on Pony Creator, just so I can have a clearer picture of your OC.
I also have need for ponies in the Solaris Guard, a special forces division in which Onyx Knight is a lieutenant. The only difference for this division is that I will have to choose the rank your OC is. Just specify that you want your oc to be a Solaris.
Only earth ponies, Pegasus ponies and unicorns will be accepted. At the moment, I'm only accepting OCs to fill these needs. In a few weeks or so, I will be doing another casting call for side characters, background ponies and non-military ponies. EDIT: I've decided to allow 5 bat pony/thestral entries. I already have 2, so only 3 bat pony entries are open.
And now for Naming my side character. He is the son of Fire Agate's sister and brother-in-law, Penelope and Anvil. He has a twin sister named Morning Glory. He has blue eyes, a slate colored coat and a hunter green mane/tail. And GO! EDIT: Character naming entry has closed.

Race: Unicorn Vampony
Mane: Rich Blue with lavender highlights held with deep purple clip. Tail is same minus Clio
Eye: lavender, red when Vampony
Fur: light pink.
Cutiemark: Pen scribbling. Any ideas she has, she writes it down, making her invaluable for spur of moment plans.
Accessories: deep purple glasses, fangs when vamp.

Bio: born a normal unicorn, Scribble dreamed of being a writer in Manehattat. That all changed when she, taking a walk at night, got bitten by a vampire. With her new form and powers such as fast flight, a boost in magic, and hypnotising, she decided to join the night guard. She fought tooth and nail to get in and takes her role as lieutenant very seriously. However, she is fun-loving and carefree when off duty, makes it a habit to take new recruits under her wing and maybe a drink or two. Her favorite drink is hard apple cider and she curses a lot when she is upset. She is happy with her decision, but still does writing as a hobby.
Name: Geist von Herzeleid
Age: 32
Gender: Stallion
Place of birth: Pferdlin, thestral colony, north eastern mountains, near the coast of Equestria.
Appearance: An average in height dark blue coated Thestral with a dirty blonde mane. Usually found with a stoic expression on his muzzle.
Personality: Geist is considered by most to be a stoic of the highest order, due to his neutral expression that he wears so as to keep ponies from guesing what he's thinking. However, the stern expression is a front to observe ponies and situations alike, when he's on shore leave and not at work he is fairly sociable. This expression is taken off entirely when in the presence of frightened colts and fillies and is replaced by a warm smile and comforting demeanor, or if the situation calls for it, a semi-strict guiding figure to the younger generation.
As a captain of the Navy Geist holds himself and his crew to the highest bar possible, demanding thorough and complete knowledge of one's duty stations. As a Uboat captain he has no time for bullshit and is extremely blunt in letting harsh opinions be known when he thinks crewponies are screwing around.
Cutie Mark: a crosshair, symbolizing his talent for hitting targets at range. This coupled with Thestral sonar allows him to mentally track targets for miles and see them in his head. Both abilities make Geist an extremely dangerous combatant when he has the element of surprise.
Name: Azure Haze.
Gender: Male.
Age: Young adult, 20-25 years old.
Race: Unicorn.
Cutie Mark: Potion bottle.
Appearance: Ivory coat with an unruly black and brown mane. Tail is same color scheme as mane. Azure has a blue birthmark on his snout, which is the reason for his first name. Though he is not unfit, Azure is not very muscular either, and is a bit lanky. As for an image, my profile picture is him.
Military division: Solaris Guard. Not sure exactly what rank he should be, so I'll leave that at your discretion.
Bio: Raised in Ponyville alongside his best friend Dusk, Azure went on to attend college in Canterlot, gaining a degree in potion-making. When Dusk joined the Equestrian military, Azure felt obligated to as well, and joined.
Personality: Azure is highly intelligent, though he lacks proper social skills, and usually has a very reserved manner.

Name: Dusk.
Gender: Male.
Age: 20-25.
Race: Unicorn.
Cutie Mark: A shadow. Ponies make fun of him for this, as it simply looks like a black smudge across his flank.
Appearance: Has a pale gray coat. Mane is a light brown, with silver highlights throughout it. Mane is average length, and is combed neatly. Tail matches mane.
Military rank: Solaris.
Bio: Raised in Ponyville, Dusk had a rough childhood, causing his motivation to join the military at a young age. Due to his cutie mark, Dusk has a talent for stealth.
Personality: Dusk is more headstrong than his friend, Azure Haze. He is also incredibly cunning.
Looks like we need more representation from the other races! I'm guessing you aren't taking changelings, so I'm just adjusting some of the OCs I've been messing around with to better fit whatever this is, so use them as you will. If anything, this might be a good exercise for me to define who these characters are exactly.

>> Hailing from the sparser, desert region of Dodge City, Sweet Spot is a socially awkward, shy, earth pony, often worrying about what others think of her and tripping over her own words in conversations. Despite her social ineptitude, she's able to catch small tells on other ponies very easily, often using those to guide the conversation and learn more about who she's speaking to. Sweet Spot is level headed and sensible, unlike many of those she works with, and will generally express her realistic opinion of exactly how irresponsible/dangerous her friends are being.
Her stature is fairly small, half a head shorter than most other ponies, but she makes up for it with a high dexterity and the ability to move quickly and silently, regardless of whether she's moving across cobblestone or through thick foliage. >> Lily is a bright, disgustingly cheerful young pegasus from the sea-side city of Baltimare. She speaks very simply and thinks very simply, often taking words and expressions at face value and answering with the obvious. Lily is the type to link two thoughts with as straight of a line as possible, finding it difficult to understand social norms and why certain actions are considered faux pas. Many consider her dense, but the very simple logic behind many of her decisions often leads to insightful and efficient plans of action. She's a poor fighter and has no specialty, but she will always find a solution, and she will inevitably complete any task requested of her.
Lily is on the tall end, with a slender body shape similar to Fleur or Cadance. After some time living with the Griffons, she acquired a taste for fish and enjoys herself more in the water than in the air, diving into the ocean from as high as possible and using her wings to help propel her forward through the water. She lives with a beat in her head, humming to herself often and liable to exercise her phenomenal singing talent at the drop of a hat. In a way, she's the type of sweet, innocent pony to be a company's mascot, and her genuine belief in naively optimistic outlooks on life in conjunction with her music can help boost the morale of everypony around her.
