Since the beginning of time, every stallion in my family has been in the Equestrian Military, from Army to Navy to Royal Guard. Centuries before, the military mare was as widely accepted as the military stallion, but as time went by, it became custom for mares to be housewives and caretakers of foals.

My father, a colonel in the Equestrian Army, was a strict stallion. His old fashioned mindset quickly came to light when at fifteen I told him of my wish to join the military. For six years afterward, our relationship only consisted of fights and it didn't help matters when my eldest sister also turned against her.

When Sterling Silver is found dead in his office, I finally gets the freedom to do what she always wanted; join the Royal Guard. But as days, months and years go by, I begin to believe that my father didn't die of natural causes.
