So, my watching of the actual show has just passed the S5 season opening two-parter.
(I have to say, I was not expecting a villain who stepped quite so directly out of an Ayn Rand novel. I mean, damn.)
But, those of you guys who have read my other work, can you imagine the reaction - if this fic gets that far down the timeline, since while I know the ending and some things that have to happen to get there, there's a lot of fuzzy in the middle, and if the timeline isn't sent too horribly off down butterfly paths in the interim - when someone with Cordelia's cultural background meets Starlight Glimmer!?
(Which is to say, Little Miss The-Equality-Concord-In-Person, fitting the archetype of The Evil Awesomeness-Hating Individuality-Sucking Warlock(ess) straight out of the pages of "Terrifying Tales for Despicable Descendants" and other somewhat less modern fairy stories?)
...oh, that's going to go well.
Assuming said meeting happens in the middle of any redemption story-like scenario for her... well, I don't know exactly what will happen in the chapter, but right now I'm going to go ahead and working-title it "Tryin' Real Hard To Be The Shepherd".
Didn't realize you were still just working through the episodes. You've got a good two and a half seasons coming. Starlight's an interesting character indeed, IMO. :)
Oh, I rather get the feeling that's gonna go over like a concrete kite in Jovian gravity. If all concerned are quite lucky, that is.
For some reason, the phrase "goes over like an anti-lead balloon" also came to mind.
