Somewhat of an Update Schedule · 8:47pm Jun 22nd, 2016
I think I finally have a better grasp on the time it is taking me to do things. I thought things would go much quicker, but sadly they don't. On average it seems to be taking 3 to 4 days at the least to do a decent job on editing my chapters. And while it didn't take much time writing the original as I just let my muse flow and write what came to me, with the rewrite I'm having to do a lot more thinking which makes me take a lot longer to write it. So my writing time is taking maybe at least 2 days up to even a week depending how much time I can get to work on it as well as not get too stressed out with things in my life and trying to make things presentable enough to post. So in total I'm going to say 2 weeks to do a chapter by throwing a few days in each time just to make sure I'm covered.
I will have the next chapter ready tonight, I should be able to put out 1 chapter bi weekly on Wednesday by the latest. If I get it done sooner I'll post it unless you think I should hold it for a certain day for scheduling reasons.
I certainly hope you can find a decent editor / prereader in the near future.
A second set of eyes does wonders for any author.
4041631 I keep going back and forth on it. I had one in real life that backed out at the last second. Then one online that did a good job, though it took awhile, but stopped returning messages. Finally they did message me and even though they had a good reason why they didn't message me back that I'm more than satisfied with, I am kind of fearful of trying again.
On the other hand it does help having a second set of eyes, but I do have some requirements that some may not really like as it seems everyone prefers using Google Docs which is something I hate as it gave me hell getting signed up and when I did the thing never seems to work right for me so I ditched it and went back to my Yahoo email and using Microsoft Word.
It is something I'm thinking about and may look into again when I finish up this chapter tonight.
I know there are editing groups scattered about, and authors have the ability to directly share unpublished chapters on Fimfiction for the purposes of editing and prereading.
I wish you luck, Google Docs doesn't like me either... But that's mostly because it eats my formatting.
4041706 I'll check them out, but also had a few people offering to edit though I turned them down at the time because I was worried after what happened with my others. And thanks.
