The End Approaches

At long last, I'm only a day away from posting the penultimate(*) chapter of "Disco Inferno", which sets up the finale.

So I thought I'd take this opportunity to see if anybody reading this can guess the ending. I promise I won't change it if anyone guesses correctly.

* "Penultimate" in the sense that I'm not counting the inevitable "Followups, Credits & Acknowledgements" chapter, otherwise it would be the antepenultimate chapter.

I'm not sure. There's more than one element which hints towards a the possibility of a sudden conclusion, or at least a shift in focus significant enough to merit switching over to a sequel - there's the fey stuff that the circus leader left with, and there's Discord's plan going off the rails back in Equestria due to "best" pony. Back in the slice of life portion, the ducks have more or less been put in a row at the circus so Rarity wouldn't have to be tied down if she got an opportunity to get back to Equestria or one of her other stranded friends to assist, though the parting would still be tearful. She's formed an attachment by now, after all.

Ultimately, I just don't see anything currently "on-screen" as being responsible for bringing about the ending in full. I just sorta get the feeling that something we've had a mention of like the above will suddenly become relevant out of the blue... so I assume that I just missed something important. Can't wait to find out what!
