Nine More True Tales Of Time Travel

In this journal entry I will talk about nine more true instances of time travel that have occurred throughout history. You can read the first journal entry I posted on this subject here. Some have occurred fairly recently and others are cases that took place long ago. But they are all interesting and make you wonder about the circumstances that led these people to travel back in time.

If you happen to know of any true time travel cases, feel free to share them in the comment section below. I always like learning about new things concerning the paranormal.

First True Account: Time Travel “Evidence” Discovered In 1995 Boxing Footage

The footage, uploaded on September 18, 2015 by JammyBantam, shows us a 1995 Las Vegas boxing match featuring Mike Tyson and Peter McNeeley. A perfectly normal affair, to be sure. But in the crowd, we see our alleged time traveler, holding up what some claim to be a modern-day smartphone.

Is this, as the video suggests, yet more proof of time travel? Skeptics may claim the object is just an ordinary, albeit unique, camera available at the time. A Casio, perhaps, as the Inquisitr mentions.

However, the way the man is holding the object in the picture seems to be more like how someone would hold a smartphone of this era than a camera manufactured in the 90s.

Here is a zoomed in still image of what appears to be the man in question holding up a smartphone to film the match.

So was he a time traveling tourist? Or was he just someone who had a very modern looking camera for the time? I will leave you to make that decision for yourself.

Second True Account: The Flatiron Building — And a Bizarre Time Travel Claim

Some people claim that the Flatiron Building which is located in the city of Chicago, Illinois was not in fact designed and constructed by any normal person. It was made to the explicit design specifications of a time traveler.

The claimed evidence is that a photograph, taken while the Flatiron Building was under construction, shows an alleged time traveler sporting a rocket pack and a cape, who can be seen hovering near the building’s top.

If you have trouble believing that claim, or that the time traveler in the image isn’t just a flag or tarp or, worse, a leaf, just remember: There are neither facts nor certainty here, only illusions.

Third True Account: The Rendlesham Forest Incident

At about 3:00 a.m. on December 26, 1980, Sergeant Jim Penniston and a team of other servicemen at RAF Woodbridge ventured into the Rendlesham Forest to investigate strange lights that had been witnessed descending into the trees. In an interview years later, Penniston would recall the event, which is now known as the Rendlesham Forest Incident.

At the time, he had expected the situation to be routine – a downed aircraft of some sort, nothing extraordinary. But what he found instead was an unidentified craft unlike any he had seen before. A bright light glowed, eventually subsiding to reveal a black, triangular object with a metallic, though seemingly glassy, surface. It glimmered with strange red and blue lights.

Penniston could see no landing gear, no exhaust, no windows. He did, however, notice some symbols, and for a moment he thought, hopefully, that he would find what he’d expected – an insignia referring to some top-secret U.S. government test craft, or perhaps a failed NASA experiment. But upon closer inspection, the symbols appeared more like hieroglyphs, cryptic designs that he could not understand.

As he would later share in the 2014 book Encounter in Rendlesham Forest the sound in the area deadened. When at first they could hear the trees and animals within the forest, near the mysterious craft they could hear nothing. Static electricity tingled their skin and raised their hair. Time itself felt like it slowed down. Penniston described it as a “dragging of time.” After the ordeal was finished, the servicemen noticed their watches were incorrect, and what had felt like only a few minutes had actually been a few hours.

“During the night I was often wakening with thoughts, or rather images, of visions of ones and zeros running through my mind, my mind’s eye…” – Jim Penniston, Encounter in Rendlesham Forest

Before he and the others returned to report their findings, Jim Penniston did something that would change the course of his future forever – he placed his hand upon the mysterious glyphs on the surface of the craft. When he did so, he became engulfed in a bright white light, and lost all sense of sight and sound.

When he “awoke” from this trance-like state, he found himself standing near the craft. It began to glow once again, then ascended above the trees and vanished in an instant. The following day, Penniston began to see them: images in his mind of thousands of ones and zeros. He didn’t know what to make of them, but he wrote them down in his notebook, along with drawings of the strange glyphs.

As soon as he finished writing them down, the images of the ones and zeros vanished from his mind. He put the notebook away, out of sight, and forgot about them.

It wasn’t until the year 2010, after being contacted to share his story on the popular History Channel program Ancient Aliens, that Penniston revealed the existence of his notebook filled with the cryptic ones and zeros.

Along with the help of Linda Moulton Howe and other experts, he discovered that the ones and zeros were actually binary code, and when translated contained the following message:

Exploration of Humanity 666 8100
52.0942532N 13.131269W
Continuous For Planetary ADVAN???
Fourth Coordinate Continuout UQS CbPR BEFORE
16.763177N 89.117768W

37.110195N 25.372281E
Eyes of Your Eyes
Origin 52.0942532N 13.131269W
Origin Year 8100

What he saw astounded him: had he been granted an otherworldly message in binary code? It consisted of what seemed to be coordinates to locations around the world: Caracol, Belize; Sedona, Arizona; the Great Pyramid of Giza; the Nazca Lines in Peru; Tai Shan Qu, China; the Portara at the Temple of Apollo in Nexos, Greece; and a purported location of the mysterious phantom island, Hy-Brasil.

Penniston, as well as others who have analyzed the strange message, does not believe that the craft he saw at Rendlesham Forest was extraterrestrial in nature. Instead, looking closely at the contents of the message, a bizarre possibility unravels: is it a message from the future?

The Rendlesham Forest Incident Information Portal contains images of Penniston’s drawings, as well as scans of the 16 or so pages upon which he wrote the cryptic binary message. It also posits that the binary message itself is actually the product of human time travelers from the year 8100 (hence “Origin Year 8100”).

These same time travelers, whatever their purpose (“Exploration of Humanity,” perhaps?), are also responsible for most UFO sightings, and are in fact the ones leaving mysterious crop circles around the planet. It is suggested that these crop circles are actually markers for fellow time travelers to assist them in navigating multiple timelines.

The coordinates in the message may be the locations of hidden portals on Earth that would allow for travel to other worlds. Or, perhaps, they mark the locations where the time travelers have traveled before. But this is just speculation.

An extraordinary tale, one with many questions – and surrounded by a great deal of skepticism. What do you believe?

Fourth True Account: Black Eyed Children Time Traveler Incident

The parking garage in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, looked safe enough when David Jenkins pulled downtown on a winter’s day in 2008. Jenkins drove forty minutes from his home in nearby York, Pennsylvania, into this city of about 500,000 people to meet a friend he hadn’t seen in a year. He didn’t know evil would greet him when the sun went down.

Jenkins wound his way through the crowded garage and found a parking spot on the third floor. Then he walked to his friend’s apartment building. “We hung out and played PS2, bullshitted over old times, had a few beers,” Jenkins said. “I left at about 12:30 a.m. and went back to the garage for my car.”

Jenkins walked through the cold, now-deserted garage, climbed into his car and started the engine, letting it warm before he started home. As he leaned down to slip an “old school hip-hop” CD into the stereo, he discovered he wasn’t alone.

“A tapping on my window scared the shit out of me,” he said. Jenkins snapped his head toward the window and saw two people staring at him through the glass. “They seemingly came out of nowhere.”

Jenkins immediately turned up the volume. “I know this sounds stupid, but I thought maybe if these were thugs they’d think when they heard that music that I was hard, or something, and maybe be more apprehensive about mugging me, if that was the intent,” he said.

80's popular street wear.Instead of anyone threatening, he found two pale boys about twelve years old standing in the cold, staring at him through the glass. One boy was taller than the other, and both were skinny. They looked out of place. “The first thing that struck me as odd was their attire,” Jenkins said. “It was ‘80s clothing, only it looked brand new.”

One boy wore a new Montreal Expos baseball cap with a logo the team used between 1969 and 1991. The Expos haven’t existed since 2004. The Vision Street Wear skater hoodies they wore were popular in the 1980s. “What they were wearing just didn’t seem to fit with the time period,” Jenkins said.

The fear of the boys drawing a gun rushed through Jenkins mind. His door was unlocked. Hoping the boys didn’t notice, he rolled his window down a crack, and simply said, “yeah?”

The shorter boy Jenkins dubbed The Ringleader spoke first. “Excuse me,” he said in a voice much older and mature than what should have come out of that mouth. “We’ve had a slight mishap, and I was hoping you could help us out.”

The request froze Jenkins in his seat. “Those were the exact words too,” he said. “‘Slight mishap.’” Jenkins knew a twelve-year-old boy in a parking garage in Pennsylvania after midnight would have never said that. “I was nervous as hell,” he said.

The boy said their ride left them and they were now stuck in that part of town, and needed a lift home. “It seemed an innocent enough request,” Jenkins said. “But my BS alarm was going off. Something just felt really eerie about the whole thing. I mean two kids that young in a parking garage at that hour? It just wasn’t right.”

The fact the boys were in the garage also frightened Jenkins. He hadn’t seen the boys when he walked to his car, and when he got in suddenly they were there. The Ringleader’s request also made him nervous. “It just seemed shady,” Jenkins said. “I asked where exactly they lived, and that I was heading back to York. That ‘other end’ of Lancaster was in the opposite direction.”

Jenkins told the boys no. The Ringleader didn’t like that. “He said he’d give me gas money, and pulled out his wallet and took out a crisp $20 bill and held it up,” Jenkins said. “It was an old style one. An old style $20 should not be that crisp, looking fresh from the bank.”

As the strangeness of the encounter grew more in Jenkins’ mind, he started to ask questions. “Everything about this just felt very wrong,” he said. “I asked where exactly they lived.”

The Ringleader again said, “on the other side of town.”

“I asked where, specifically, on the other side of town,” Jenkins said. “I wanted the name of the township, the name of the school district, the name of the street. An exact address.”

The Ringleader balked; the other boy began to look nervous. “They couldn’t give me an answer,” Jenkins said. “This really creeped me out because it was now apparent that they really had no intention of getting a ride anywhere. They just wanted to get into my car.”

Then Jenkins saw something that kept him awake for the next two days. “I noticed something else – completely jet black eyes,” he said. The sight terrified him. Jenkins looked away from the children, trying to keep them from seeing the fear on his face.

The second child spoke to him. “Please,” he said. “Can we please get in the car? It’s really cold out here. I’ll tell you where to go once we get in.”

Panic consumed Jenkins.

“Please,” the smaller boy demanded.

“At this point it was fight or flight,” Jenkins said. “And I certainly wasn’t getting out of the car.”

He put the car in gear and told the kids “no” through the crack in the window. “Please, don’t go,” the Ringleader said, desperation creeping into his voice. “We’ll be stuck out here.”

“Sorry,” Jenkins said and started to pull away from these black-eyed children.

The tenor of the Ringleader’s voice changed. “Now, perhaps realizing their fate was sealed, they no longer held back,” Jenkins said. “The talkative shorter one’s voice changed now. No longer like that of a desperate little boy, it had a nasty snarl to it.”

The Ringleader started cursing at Jenkins as the car pulled away from them. Before Jenkins drove onto the ramp down to the lower level, he chanced a look in the rearview mirror. Terror stabbed at him anew, but it had nothing to do with the strange eyes of the boys. His fear came from something more human. “There was no trace of them,” he said. “I wasn’t thinking, ‘oh wow, they vanished,’ I was thinking, ‘shit, they’re gonna try to head me off at the next level down.’”

Worried the boys might run in front of his car at every turn, he hurried to the ground floor and shot onto the street. The black-eyed boys weren’t there. Three blocks away, his heart pounding in his chest, he stopped for a red light. “I kept looking back, scanning for them,” Jenkins said, but the strange boys weren’t behind him.

He sat in his car, still shivering from fear; the light stayed red. “It seemed like it was taking an unnaturally long time to change,” he said. “In fact I think now that those intersections are even supposed to be flashing red and yellow lights at that time of night.”

The minutes crawled by, and the light refused to change. Then he saw the black-eyed boys standing on a street corner he’d looked at not ten seconds before. “Sure enough, there they are,” Jenkins said. “I’d been looking around everywhere the entire time and didn’t see them coming. There’s just no way they could’ve gotten right on top of me without me seeing them coming.”

The Ringleader made eye contact with Jenkins and snarled. The second boy looked apprehensive “Even apologetic,” Jenkins said. “Like a good cop/bad cop routine or something.”

The boys started walking toward Jenkins’ car, and the panic again rose in his chest. The light still shown red. “There was nothing coming the other way and I just gunned it through the red light. I was hoping to God there’d be a cop.”

He didn’t encounter one police car on his fear-fueled drive home, running every red stoplight on his way. Once he reached the highway, he began to relax, but nothing went back to normal. “I didn’t sleep for like 48 hours after that, and didn’t sleep without a night light on for quite some time after,” Jenkins said. “When I finally did sleep they were in my dreams. I kept thinking that maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me that night, but after seeing other accounts, there are just too many similarities to write off. These things are very real.”

Fifth True Account: The Mandela Effect

A phenomenon known as the Mandela Effect, a name coined by Fiona Broome, stems from the absurd number of people who seem to “remember” that Nelson Mandela died in prison in the 1980s, and not at his home in Johannesburg in 2013. In fact, there’s even a subreddit dedicated to this kind of stuff at r/MandelaEffect, and you can read Broome’s own website on the subject at MandelaEffect.com.

Other examples of this “effect” include a portrait missing from this universe of Henry VIII, in which he’s holding a turkey leg, New Zealand being in a different location, and perhaps strangest of all, the color Chartreuse being “something other than yellow-green.” You can check out Broome’s full list of anomalies here.

However, the problem with something like the Mandela Effect is this: just because you hear something or even see something, that doesn’t mean it’s true. Sometimes we read something incorrectly, or experience false memories. Sometimes we’re told something, even (well, especially) by the news media, that’s incorrect. We assume it’s true, because why not, and go about our business.

Then, when we later find out that Nelson Mandela has only recently died, or New Zealand is in a different location on the map, or that the Berenstein Bears are actually the Berenstain Bears, this information clashes with what we thought we knew. And if enough people are misinformed about the same topic, I imagine that’s when we run into the so-called Mandela Effect.

In other words, that’s a roundabout way of saying sometimes we’re wrong.

This is an interesting phenomenon, regardless of whether you want to ascribe it to parallel universes or false memories. The brain is a tricky thing, and the universe is trickier. Head over to Mandela Effect, explore the possibilities, and draw your own conclusions.

Do you have any memories that don’t quite mesh with our current reality? If you do, you have more than likely experienced the Mandela Effect for yourself.

Sixth True Account: The Hyper Dimensional Resonator

The Hyper Dimensional Resonator, also known as an HDR, was invented in 1985. This device is said to manipulate time and space, allowing its user to embark on strange out-of-body experiences (OBEs).

But the HDR possesses many other unique qualities, as well. It may produce fog, or rain. It may change the way your mind functions, and how you perceive the universe. And, most intriguingly of all, if you successfully locate an interdimensional gateway, or vortex (at just the right time, of course), you can even use the device to astrally travel through time.

Yes, you heard right: it is a time machine. It also may or may not attract cats.

How does it “work?". It’s simple, really. The user must first place a quartz crystal into the “witness well,” which augments the frequency of the HDR, thus allowing time travel to occur. Then, the user must rub the rubbing plate while concentrating on the time and place he or she would like to travel.

When turned on, a Tensor coil within the Hyper Dimensional Resonator produces scalar waves that warp time around the device, generating an electromagnetic field and disrupting the usual flow of time. And off you go. Like I said, simple.

Given the relative simplicity of the hardware, many have also attempted to build HDRs at home. That’s right: you, too, can unlock the power of time travel by soldering six rectifier diodes in a circle inside a box that looks about as complicated as an Atari 2600.

Many claim to have successfully traveled through time using an HDR, yes. Others have reported bizarre OBEs and other phenomena. In 2004, one brave soul in particular risked his life in an unsuccessful attempt to voyage back to the year 1982.

So be careful out there, fellow chrononauts!

And don’t forget the crystals!

Seventh True Account: A Redditor's Encounter With Time Traveler

This peculiar time travel tale comes straight from Reddit’s NoSleep district. Now, sure, a good chunk of the posts over there are just stories. Tales for the campfire, I guess. But that doesn’t make them any less interesting. And, occasionally, you come across something more substantial.

On March 22, 2012, for example, Reddit user actionslacks submitted a post about a strange encounter he’d had while driving home the previous night. He’d been on his way back from a party in Maine at about two in the morning, when he caught something in his headlights. That something turned out to be a teenager, about 14 or 15 years old, slumped over on the ground. Naturally, actionslacks pulled over and jumped out of his car to help. The kid was breathing, but covered in dark soot and smelling like fire.

No, that’s not the weird part.

After some prompting, the kid revealed his name was John, and said that, no, he hadn’t been on fire. But then he got up, walked over to the car, and climbed into the passenger seat. Whether he wanted to or not, apparently actionslacks was going to give the teenager a ride.
A hospital seemed like a good idea.

So off they went. At first, it was a quiet ride. Nothing happened. Then actionslacks decided to ask a few questions. He asked the strange teenager when he was born. “March fourth, twenty-thirteen,” he replied. Why was he out there? “I’m not supposed to be,” he said, hesitating. And then the boy asked, blankly, what time it was, and if he was too late. When told it was March 22, 2012 at about three in the morning, his only response was, “My God.” The remainder of the car ride was spent in silence.

They eventually arrived at the hospital, and actionslacks went inside to speak to a receptionist. But when he returned to his car, the teenager was nowhere to be found. In his place was what appeared to be dark soot.

So, what happened? Was this an encounter with a real time traveler? Was it an April Fools joke? Was the story even true? Can’t be sure, but luckily nothing catastrophic occurred on April 1, and so the world goes on.

Eighth True Account: The Time Traveling Hipster

A photo turned up on the Virtual Museum of Canada website, an online repository of “Canada’s rich history and culture.” It’s said to be of the reopening of the South Fork Bridge in the early 1940s in Gold Bridge, B.C., Canada. The event certainly drew a crowd.

But in the photo, someone doesn’t belong. There is a man in the crowd who stands out among the men dressed in suits, women clothed in sundresses, or young ladies wearing skits and blouses common for the era. He sports sunglasses, modern clothing, and a camera that do not appear to be consistent with items that could be found in the 1940s.

Here is a picture of the seemingly out of place man:

Who is this strange individual, seemingly out of place — modern attire and all — in what would otherwise be a perfectly ordinary gathering? Is he from the future? Fancy goggles. Coat. Branded t-shirt. This is what happens when you let hipsters play with your time machine.

They visit the opening of a bridge.

Ninth True Account: Charlie Chaplin's Time Traveler

In a short clip taken from a special feature on the DVD version of Charlie Chaplin’s film, The Circus we see a relatively mundane shot from the film’s premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in 1928.

Two individuals walk across the screen behind a zebra. But that’s not the strange part. Look closer. What’s that woman holding to her ear? A cell phone? A pan-dimensional communication device? That’s Time Travel 101, folks: no cell phones!

Here is a picture of the alleged time traveler, taken straight out of the movie footage:

Was it a time traveler? Or was it simply just a woman talking into a shoe as some people have claimed? No one knows for sure. So the debate over this mysterious footage carries on.
