Status Update for "Empire of Pink"

For those that care (if anyone does):

I've nearly finished with the next (and so far, longest) chapter of Empire of Pink. I had hoped to have it finished by the start of the weekend, but that hasn't happened. Still, it should be ready sometime over the coming week.

    Quick Update on Things

    No, I have not disappeared.

I know I said that "Cutie Marked for Death" would have an update soon. But as it stands, it looks like it might take just as long to get it out as it did the last one. Granted, I don't suppose it makes much of a difference, but I had intended to have it out by now and I don't like feeling untrue to my word.

New Story Soon · 4:00am May 7th, 2016

Today, I finished writing a new story. Revision and formatting comes next, but it should be out in a few days.

Ever since writing A Glimmer of Hope, I have felt the need to explore Radiant Hope further. As one of the most fundamentally tragic characters this franchise has produced, Hope continues to fascinate me. Over the past few months, I have struggled with coming up with another story that allows for the same level of introspection. Now, I finally think I've come up with one.

Whereas A Glimmer of Hope focused on Hope's struggles to overcome the legacy of the events of Siege of the Crystal Empire., this new story will show Hope's transformation from the sweet, innocent pony of Fiendship is Magic #1into the pony that could orchestrate the terrible events of the Siege. It occurred to me that there was perhaps more room for exploration there beyond the comics' short explanation of "Radiant Hope found the umbrum and would do anything to help Sombra." So, I explored.

The story is not directly related to A Glimmer of Hope, so reading that is not necessary for reading this one. That being said, I do view the new story as something of a companion piece, so those who have read my previous story will recognize a number of parallels throughout.

In short, stay tuned. The Light of Despair releases soon.
