Thoughts on Season Three
Season three, in a nutshell, isn't very good on average. We've got a sub-par premiere, and the worst finale. Yes, I know. This was supposed to be the final season. That may explain things, but it doesn't excuse things.
It went too fast. Bang, bang, bang! And it really suffered for it. Some episodes were really good, like Magic Duel or Sleepless in Ponyville. Others were all right, like Wonderbolts Academy. Some failed to stick the landing, like Too Many Pinkie Pies.
Now, then No Second Prances...
Okay, it wasn't too bad But, Twilight? I kinda hate you, now. When Starlight 'Karma Houdini' Glimmer can rightfully call you out on shit? That's bad. She's a caricature of herself. Trixie was good. Starlight in the beginning... remind me again why we're supposed to like you? *headdesk*
So, I'll be continuing on. Next reviews should be the last week of May. Next up will be Equestria Girls. then season four, or, "The season that almost made me think Discord could be redeemed."
Why? Because she was worried that Trixie would be a bad influence and affect Starlight in a negative way? Perfect mentor behavior.

Trixie isn't any worse than the Mane6 or Starlight Glimmer.
Ya know, Season 3 full-on sucked. Only episode that wasn't at least a dud, if not a full-on turd was Magic Duel. Well, One Bad Apple and Sleepless in Ponyville were both kinda meh, but the show dropped considerably in quality during Season 2, and didn't improve until halfway through Season 4, and even then, has had it's slumps.

Because she held a grudge against someone she said she'd forgiven, showed profound distrust of someone she was supposedly trying to help, and was kind of petty and selfish about the whole dinner with Celestia thing.
3916358 All I got from it was Twilight trying to act like a good teacher and finding out that her first and only student was making friends with the one pony who pretty much did the same thing she did.
Oh, he could be... If the writers didn't have him go back to his old behavior for yuks.

Eh, I dunno. Discord is… well, Discord. Asking him to not cause trouble is a bit like asking water not to be wet.
…actually I'm not even sure that analogy is applicable when Discord is involved.
As a pony with a death wish goes...
Many assume she opted to kill herself after Starlight ran out on her and ending their friendship.
But guess what? She had that plan set up from the start!
Wasn't it a bit weird that she just happened to appear in Ponyville, the one last town in Equestria she would set her hoof in? On an Apology Tour involving a Manticore Mouth Dive act that would've ended her if it hadn't been for Starlight, a pony she did not know before arriving into town?
Somepony obviously had a scheme to originally give Ponyville, a town she had previously enslaved and tormented in season 3, one final act she probably figured everypony would most definitively love to see...
Luckily for her, Starlight returned to turn her final act into an encore
