Refitting my Work Computer. · 4:43pm Apr 16th, 2016
Here is the mission.
My old Work Computer, on which I do most of my developing, website managerial tasks, and other things related to my employment, was showing its age.
So I pulled some of its guts out. I left the HDD, disk drives, FDD, and other things inside, because those are irrelevant.
Here are its guts. Note the old NVidia GPU and the old Athlon 64.
I put in a Gigabyte motherboard.
This is an AMD PHENOM X4 AGENA 9850 BLACK EDITION.
Time to put you in!
I got a super-huge CPU cooler.
Let's put a little Thermal Paste on.
Hooked everything up, installed the GPU - another NVidia card.
Operation complete!
It's not over yet, as Revolver Ocelot would say.
Now I have to repair my Gaming computer.

It was. If you were wondering what I was up to; that was it. It took quite a while - not the assembly so much, but the installation of the drivers, tweaking the BIOS, and such.
I'm not even done, either. Have to fix my gaming rig up; I'm ordering the parts as we speak.

Yes! Then I can finally get down to business. It's rather tedious not being able to use my computer to its fullest extent, being as I compose most of my work there.

[screams internally]
You're a braver soul than I. I can't do that at all; the mere idea gives me the horrors.
3875460
I could, potentially, repair it, unless it was destroyed beyond all recognition.
3875477
Ah, well, there goes my epic chance to display my computer repair prowess.

Nothing to apologize about, don't worry. I was just looking for an opportunity to help. I'm sure another shall present itself, and, anyway, I already have something for you at any rate. Quite a few somethings, anyway.
3875491
Oh, after I get this mess with my machines over with, actually - then I can resume my work.
Unless you were thinking of something else entirely....
3875508
Understood. No, I'll need another day or two and then everything will be back to normal. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I have a Phenom X4 without any CPU fan at all. But I never overclock it, and I have an enormous CPU heatsink, and a vertical case with fans set to pull air in the bottom, over the hard drives & CPU, and vent it out the top. I also have no fan on my GPU. Both are hovering around 45C right now, which is hotter than I'd like. But I hate fan noise.
