So, when I'm sluggishly rolling around, trying to write the next chapter to Twilight's misadventures. Fanfiction is one of the few things I do in my spare time when not working but I do a lot of that so my point has some ground, dood.
There are ALOT of Harem-based fanfics about, dood. This has caused me to rethink some plans for future projects that I am only kicking around... oh hey a House Sparkle tag, wonder how this will effect that story that everyone still thinks is dead, dood?
The effect is... Twilight(House Sparkle) will probably be Monogamous (dating/married to a single partner) and STAY THAT WAY unlike Twilight from the more popular Misadventures, who gets a herd. Personally, this will probably work out better because the society she is in is more like our own (polygamy is there but extremely rare) vs the whole "We outlawed herds 600 years ago but you're a mare with a dick so we'll let it slide this time, don't pick up any more mare- oh jeez, you made our returning Princess, a griffon, a changeling queen, and a zebra into your herdmates, I guess we'll just have to let it go" thing I stumbled over a hundred times.
This will not mean that Twilight is only gonna fuck one mare the ENTIRE story, dood, just means more naughty scenes featuring that chosen pony (either Fluttershy who will find out that the shy girl DID in fact marry the Main Character of the series (see Naruto) or Cheerilee because I like Cheerilee and I'm a sucker for secondary characters to be honest, dood). I will also need to actually think before I type and see if I can work around it for scenes involving other characters that Twilight may be forced to 'interact with'... like Twilight getting a hard on and the new butler dragigng her to the side and dealing with it so that her mistress doesn't embarass herself with a tent in her pants, or Rainbow needs a 'tune-up' or Sunset wanting to hook Twilight up with friends (or herself out of curiosity and booze), or something, dood. Maybe I'll self-insert myself and shoot somepony with a ray gun that makes any chick wet for Twilight for shits and giggles.... no that would be too silly, dood.
Either way, House Sparkle is still in its coma but at least I haven't said 'fuck it', dood. I suppose that's something...

For some reason it's much harder to make TwiSpike work than TwiShining for example, but it's also an option.
I wouldn't let my own writing be influenced by what other people or don't do. Just write what YOU want to write.
3867217 I try not to but... I really don't feel like doing another Harem story, dood. Too many characters and too annoying to keep together, dood.
3867125 I think the reason is because you can make incest easy by saying it's 'experimental' or by making the younger sibling more dependent on the older sibling when it comes to sex. TwiSpike could be viewed as harder to write because of Spike's canonical interest in Rarity and maybe his much younger age, dood. But I'm the kind of guy that hates both of these pairings so I don't care about it.
Well that's fine to make it a Monogamous relationship, as long Twilight still has mistress on the side. Though if were throwing a main partner for Twilight, i say go for Applejack. I don't know why, but something about a city girl and a country girl getting together seems like a awesome idea. I don't know about every harem fanfic, but most that i have read don't really out right say that they are making a harem. Instead they just leave it in the dark, and just sorta happens.
