    Editor Wanted

Yo, guys. It's been a little while. I apologize for the virtual abandonment of Through the Trials and Tribulations, and I really do want to work on it, but in the words of another great writer, every time I look at it, I want to run away screaming. That, and I've been going through a very stressful point in my life due to emotional and family issues which have been sapping me of motivation for

    More writing practice for me

Lately, I've haven't been writing ponies (what?! HERESY!) because I've mostly been writing short, quick things. I've noticed that I'm kinda better at writing shorter stories than long multi-chapter ones.

Now, I've been seeing a lot of people doing this, so I figured I'd jump onto the bandwagon.

Awesome. A song right at the get-go.

    (Episode continues.)

Hmm. Interesting. Oh my gawd, more songs!

    (Keep on going.)

Hmm, quite a simple solution. Me gusta mucho! MORE EPIC SONGS!

    Batten down the hatches...

Well... yet another beautiful thing is beginning to feel the canker and rot that is America's entertainment business.

    Another one bites the dust

And this, fillies and gentlecolts, is yet another failed prophecy, created by humans, of the end of the world. I don't know why people keep trying to come up with this (pardon my language) bullshit. Do you really want the world as we know it to end?

Whatever. I gave up trying to understand foolish human superstitions years ago.

Writer's Block Strikes Again! · 10:46pm Aug 28th, 2012

Title says it all. I have hit a proverbial wall in my fic. I know the big events and what I want to happen, but I'm having trouble with the minor details.

So, in an effort to distract my writer's block so I can stab it in the back repeatedly, I want to try something new for myself. In my English class, we are currently reading the epic, 'Beowulf.' I wanted to try something like that.

Several details first. It won't be ponies, and for that I'm sorry. And it won't be original because despite having quite the imagination, I can't put a crap load of random images and thoughts together in a way to get others to see what I see. To give an example of this, at one point, I had elements of MLP: FIM, 300, Troy, Star Wars, Warhammer 40,000, Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Total War, etc, all mashed together to create a world that made sense to me, but I doubt would make sense to anybody else.

Therefore, I thought of writing out the scenery in the movie '300.' I liked how there was narration at several areas of the movie, and I wondered what it'd be like to make the entire movie into an epic. So I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in reading it. I won't have it posted anywhere, but I could put up a link to G-Docs once it was finished. I'd have direct quotes from the movie and it would most likely be in present tense, so I'd be able to get a lot of practice that way. Let me know in the comments.

And yes, I am very well aware of the fact that there is already a poem about the real, historical Battle of Thermopylae. I'm just interested in doing it for the movie.

I'd be more interested in hearing about this universe you created by mashing together the universe. Sounds very interesting. But maybe that's just me.
I'd also be willing to read anything you write. I still can't believe I haven't gotten around to watching the whole movie now that I think about. :facehoof:

318567 That's the problem. It'd be too hard to describe. I'd have to draw everything to make you understand, and that is something that I just cannot do.

I wish I could though. :ajsleepy:

318584 I just realized I said, "by mashing together the universe." :facehoof: I really need to pay more attention when typing out comments. I have been doing things like that a lot lately. I'm an ideas kind of person so there are a lot of things I get that are supposed to be complicated, although most of those I've heard explained in person so there may be a slight difference in ability. Very well, save it later.

319312 Yeah yeah yuck it up. :ajbemused: I'll wait for you to notice the obvious change.

319322 You changed your name!
