If anything sums up the start of season six id say its the word slow. I found todays episode to be rather underwhelming.
The jokes were either predictable or repeated ad nauseam. I love Pinkie Pie, but some of these writers really dont seem to know how to handle her. She's got such a powerful personality that it takes a delicate balance to keep her from going from funny to obnoxious. Pair that with the emotionless deadpan of her sister Maud and you have all the ingredients for a poorly executed mess. They can work well together, but in my opinion it didnt really work in this episode. Guess thats what happens when you let a couple of newbie writers work with a character like pinkie. But hey, at least starlight wasn't in this episode.
know what would make me happy, an episode where Discord trolls the buck out of Starlight. All hail to the glory that is Chaos.
