I Revised the Long Description of The Blue Rose. . . · 12:09am Mar 13th, 2016
. . . do you like it?
It's a sonnet, if you're curious:
The legends of Equestria are numerous so–
Alicorns, dragons, gryphons, and zebras, yea!
But there is one more than all ponies know,
One that will ever remain their ultimate prey. One seeks the sea’s dry on the moon’s midday,
But this fable chooses to whom itself to show:
Noöne is more taxed and unfortunate than they
Who had tried this gift themselves to bestow. Now the adventures of a colt we shall follow,
One who chanced upon such a treat one day–
Then he was on a journey with his new mæstro
Wherein wisdom to circulate was given away. What, the question gœs, is this magical thing?
Why, it’s the Blue Rose– greater than any king!
For new readers who are coming here ex post factō, this was the original long description:
Roses.
They can be found in a variety of colors– be it red, yellow, violet, white, peach, or various others.
But blue? Those are not an everyday sight, even for someone as old as Celestia.
Legend has it that whoëver finds one will be blessed with visions of the world, leaving profound wisdom in their wake.
For one foal, what once was a walk through the woods soon will become this journey, which will span all of Equestria– and beyond.
Fire-breathing dragons? Gold-hungry gryphons? A voyage across the vast expanse of the sea?
All these and more this flower shall lead on.
Good night, and good luck.
