You know what just happened?
Some dumbass hick old white guy fucking DROVE while I was crossing the street, so I said: "What the fuck?" and flipped him off as he drove past. He stopped his shitty van and was like, "You got a problem?" and I said, "Yeah, don't drive when I'm crossing the fucking street." , so he says "Use the crosswalk, and watch that finger pal, learn some manners." And the cross walk is all the way down the other side of the block, and this fuck tries to say I need manners, when he could have waited the five goddamn seconds it would have taken for me to cross rather than practically riding my ass like he was going to run me over. Disrespectful goddamn idiot, I had fucking had it with Californian drivers at that point, so I just walked away.
Soooo tired of drivers acting like their time matters more than the people who are walking.

Well according to law, pedestrians do not have the right of way outside of the crosswalk. That's why crosswalks exist. A pedestrian crossing the street outside of the established zone is considered a traffic obstruction. The reason people stop to let pedestrians cross anyway is simply a basic sense thing, but if your outside of the lines, the law is not on your side.
Basically what I'm saying is, in the event something does happen, if you're not in the crosswalk, the law will hold you equally as responsible as the driver of the vehicle.
