Halo Legends
I appreciate that I’m very late to this party, but it recently came out on Netflix. Frankly I’m glad I didn’t spend money on it.
Some minor spoilers may follow, I don’t recommend that you care enough about this piece of media to worry about that though, because I don’t recommend actually watching it.
“Origins”: Boring, fairly dry, and doesn’t tell you anything new (and tells it in a less interesting, and more pretentious, fashion than the games)
“The Duel”: Quite nice art. Very sexist, pretty predictable. This story has been told too often before. And why do all aliens ascribe to our gender binary, stereotypes and related indicators of gender (slim waists, big eyes for women, etc.)? Even ones that have never done so in the source material? At least “Star Trek” has an in-universe retconned excuse and live action media has some practical justifications
“Homecoming”: Arguably very sexist (particularly when viewed as part of a wider piece that has problems with representation). One of the more interesting stories in theory, but the execution and pacing are all over the place and completely broke what little investment I had in this one. Wound up skipping whole chunks
“Odd One Out”: Slightly weird, pretty sexist. Significantly less dull than the others, but not to my personal taste. Enjoyable animation
“Prototype”: Fairly boring, pretty internally inconsistent, but not as shit as the others
“The Babysitter”: Very very very very very very very sexist, predictable, and pretty boring. I think this one is trying to masquerade as inclusive and progressive; which it was… when “Metroid” did it 29 fucking years ago… and “Metroid” did it better
“The Package”: Oh look, a single man of colo…u… nope, my bad they’re dead (because they’re stupid and didn’t wait for the Lead White Guy). Oh look, 2 white guys that died (because they’re Heroes and die in combat, protecting their team). Oh look a single woman… that dies (because they’re caring and takes the Lead White Guys hand and pushes them onwards… also I’m not sure they understand how zero g works… also a rip-off of “Advent Children”). Oh, my bad, there’s another woman… but they spend the whole episode frozen in a box until being rescued by the last white guy. And now there’s suddenly time for some “witty” repartee very crudely referencing the Halo games, despite this whole mission only having a five minute window Because Reasons. The fuck? Absurdly predictable. Absurdly badly animated. Absurd.
Also, what the hell happened to the blonde dudes chin? Is he related to Megamind?
Over all: Boring. Sexist. Predictable. Mostly badly animated (despite a couple of exceptions; in ‘The package” the Master Chief moves like Woody from “Toy Story). Seemed very white, though some of the characters may be east asian (I know some of the production teams are) some of the chosen art styles can leave that slightly ambiguous (at least to me as someone who is less educated in Japanese and related art styles anyway). Did I mention sexist?
0.5 out of 10. Do Not Watch.
Disclaimer: someone who has watched this a gazillion times might be more than able to pick holes in my “review”, but I honestly don’t care about this poor excuse for an adaptation (cash-in) enough to watch it more than once (and even then I skipped a couple of the more painful bits).

....How do they know that those people were even white? I remember a video/article awhile back that explained that most of those 'white' people are actually supposed to be Asian. (There's a lot of overlap between 'white' skin tones and 'asian' ones.)

Then again, I'd probably be called a racist, sexist, homophobe because I'm a straight white male that isn't ashamed of himself.
