Thank you for submitting your story to Equestria Daily. Unfortunately, I can't recommend posting it.
The idea of Luna struggling with her dark past is a compelling one, but it's also probably the single most common premise for a fic in this fandom. We already have many, many stories of this type on the blog. Equestria Daily readers who like stories like this one have no trouble finding what they want in our archives. To get featured now, such a story either has to take the idea in a new direction, or it must be so astoundingly excellent that it stands out. This story is a perfectly serviceable example of the genre, and a story of similar quality on a less thoroughly explored subject would probably have a 50/50 shot at being featured, but this one does nothing to differentiate itself from the pack.
And that's all there is.

Hey, if you read between the lines, you can tell that the prereader enjoyed your story.

I know one of the prereaders for EqD. I'm going to paraphrase what he told me.
That said, that gives you an idea what EqD is looking for.
I was even told he would approve the first Shrek / Mlp crossover he sees posted. So yeah, I don't much look to EqD for fics.

Don't take EQD as some sort of status symbol, it is A LOT of luck to get on there. It doesn't even do much for your stories as it is, CH. So don't trouble yourself over their antics, but rather shoot for a feature here.

EQD's proof readers are inconsistent at best and plotholes at worst. I recently tried submitting "Her Sword, Shield, and Friend" again after like 2 hours of heavy editing to fix the apparent "Talking Heads" problem seeing as last time they thought it was a really bad script instead of a story and the response was basically, "No. We don't want your story. You've done nothing to fix it. Don't submit it again." so whatever, see if I bother putting up with the likes of them again The team at EQD really needs to get their priority's in order as far as their fanfiction section is concerned. Your work is amazing, and I'm not even big on most sadfic's so if they won't take your stories, it's their loss.
