The Forgotten Memory: Story Questions + Update · 12:03am Jan 18th, 2016
Hey there, Kingdom Hearts Fans! Sorry these took so long. I was trying to work on a couple other stories and they distracted me from these questions. I know I haven't been doing well with The Forgotten Memory, but the progress for that story is... slow. To be honest there are so many changes that need to happen before it can fully become what I'm wanting it to be, and what I hope that you readers would like to see. But enough of my talk. Here are the questions that some of the readers have asked me. Without further adieu, let us get into it!
First question was asked by Lord Nopony:
With the new KH3 trailer that was recently premiered, will it affect your story in any way?
Hmm… a good question. In all honesty I do feel that since the third game hasn’t been released yet, I do not see any kind of hindrance Kingdom Hearts III will have on the story.
Plus to add to an answer, I will reveal the timeline of when this takes place, for both Kingdom Hearts and the universe of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. For KH the story should take place some time after our heroes have trained, but to a point where Kingdom Hearts III would not have started yet. (To add to the fact, it might take place just a bit after Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Remix Final Chapter Prologue).
As for the universe of My Little Pony, the story should definitely be taking place a bit into the third season. (For an accurate assumption, about a few episodes into the season. And to be even more accurate, it should be taking place after episodes 1-4 and will start sometime before episode 5.
The second question was asked by JKReader:
Will Nyx still be in the story?
This was quite a hard question to think about… or rather it was hard to actually consider my options. For one I thought that Nyx would have made a great addition to the story. However… the more time I spent writing the scenes out with her, the more I felt like she was suddenly becoming more and more… bland. She didn’t feel unique, and kind of just felt like she was just there for the sake of “just” being there.
And If I am to be honest she was kind of an unnecessary character. I do understand that many readers like her cute and adorable nature, but other then that she was only ever interesting when she became Nightmare Moon. (Don’t mean to say Pen Stroke is a bad writer or anything, which in case I might talk about that subject at a much later point). But yes… Nyx shall no longer be starring in the story.
The third question was asked by DJSkywalker:
Will we see actual physical appearances by any Kingdom Heart characters? Like Roxas, Sora, or Riku?
So for character wise from the Kingdom Hearts game? Let’s see here… now don’t quote me on this one, but I know for certain that Sora and Riku will not appear in The Forgotten Memory. Neither will Roxas because that would be a mess to figure out, considering the fact that only Kingdom Hearts III will reveal how Nobodies like Roxas can be given a new existence. (Even then I don't know whether they'll bring him back or not, so it may be even a mystery to me).
As for the antagonists of the game? Well, let’s just say that Organization XIII will certainly be a threat to our protagonistic cast. However, I shall not spoil which members will appear, but to let you know that there will be quite a few different appearances.
The fourth and finale question was asked by DawnDarkling:
Do you have an origin planned for everything you add that diverges from the canon of both KH and MLP? Do you reveal the main character’s original, Pre-Nobody name and story? How is the main character going to change after the rewrite?
The origins of my Kingdom Hearts crossover will definitely have plans. There are certainly moments where it will diverge from the cannon of both KH and MLP, although I do plan on remaining close to the original stories of both game and show. There will be a few differences in some episodes for My Little Pony. But for Kingdom Hearts? There will not be many differences since the timeline is so close to Kingdom Hearts III. And with no knowledge of what the game’s plot, my own origin may not come close to the story’s ending.
As for my Nobody character, Xaniel. Do I ever reveal his Somebody? Can’t exactly define the details but let’s just say that I do have plans for the revelation of his Somebody.
And as for Xaniel’s change with this revision. Let’s just say he definitely has become more realistic in my own eyes. To say the least the first version of him, which is in the currently published story makes him out to be… kind of pathetic. He’s easy to hurt and kind whines like one of those annoying characters that some people have seen in certain games, shows, movies, etc. But in this revised version? Let’s just say that his personality is upgraded from a one-dimensional character to a definite three-dimensional character.
Welp. I do definitely hope that everyone will take a kind liking to the questions. Other than that I have a little special something for you all. It's a story, albeit a One-Shot story but I hope you take a liking to it. Unfortunately I cannot get to work on my Kingdom Hearts crossover story because that is... at the moment being disrupted because of my The True Nightmare Series. Since that is the current story I am close to fully releasing I need to put all of my energy into that. The Forgotten Memory, however, will be receiving updates to its story as best as I can. I know you've all been waiting a long time but right now this other story is the utmost importance. I do promise that it will be the next focus for me so it shouldn't take much longer. Welp. Aw what?! No Nyx! But that was one of the major things that drew me to this story!
3694006 Sorry. Nyx was... more or less, kind of awkward in the story. I know that's not an answer you were probably looking for, but Nyx could fit in other stories. This one, however, she's just kind of... useless, I guess you can say? She just stands out in a very odd way that doesn't fit with the story. (Mostly I kind of blame what happened with how Nyx was brought up in the Fandom. One side liked her a lot. One side didn't. And now I stand in the middle... although that answer will have to wait in another blog.
