Calm down everypony, I've got this all sorted out. You know those worthless tenth-bits, that are totally not a clever metaphor for pennies that humans carry around? We just stop making those.

Now that that's settled, let's get started on a true problem for Equestira. Changing the color of rooftops!

I still adore this fic.

Of course they aren't a metaphor for pennies. If they were, eliminating them wouldn't do much to help a copper shortage what with them being 97.5% zinc. And back of the envelope used . . . if I did this right . . . about 4 or 5 thousand tons of copper in 2013. Or some 0.4% of US copper output. Not to say that the penny is still a good idea that should continue in circulation, much less production, but . . .
