I think I found Starlight Over Detrot: A Noir Tale because Ebon Mane recommended it. This is a helluva good story so far. The writing style is way above my level; I refer to it when I want something to spark me into writing actual descriptions. I can't tell yet whether the story structure makes sense - it isn't complete - but I have faith. This is also a great example of genre-blending. It feels like Bogart, and it feels like pony. And it only has 500 views.
All that atmosphere doesn't come cheap - it's 54,000 words so far, and looks like it's less than halfway done.
Ebon Mane, BTW, wrote a horrifying 1000-word story called The Cough that was very popular a year ago, but has since been forgotten. Coincidentally, I see he/she edited it today.

I wasn't here at the time "The Cough" was originally posted, but it was still present in the community's collective consciousness half a year later. It had a share of parodies floating around for a time as well. One of them, "The Fart," was one of only two stories on here I have ever thought was truly despicable enough to hit the dislike button on.
