    Seath's size problem.

I figure it's time I stop being annoyingly silent on an issue many have asked about and confirm that yes, I'm listening:

Happy New Year everyone! How about some story progress?

So, finally, it's here! One of the most trying years for many of us is at last concluded, and I wake today to a cold, clear and sunny first day of 2019. Really, really hope that's an omen of things finally changing for the better cause I daresay we all need it.

Few more teasers, just a few months late. XS

I know I promised this back in July but, well, if you saw my blog from there, things have continued to be rough in real life. Thankfully it looks like that may at last be changing so I've found the vigor to get back to writing again.

'Romancing the Recently Revealed Robot' isn't dead yet, it just needs some help...

Wanted to post this after checking in here and noticing the above series has found its way into a few collections that have been labelled as variations on 'dead series'. I accept full blame for folk thinking that, but if it matters at this point, I'm not giving up on my Spike x Sweetie Bot scenario just yet. It's just fallen by the wayside as attention has naturally gravitated towards 'Scaleless'

How long is too long for a chapter? · 8:19pm Dec 20th, 2015

Hello all! One thing I'd really appreciate some input on as I make haste to do what I can on getting Chapter 33 finished so I can hopefully post it when I return from vacation: does anyone have a limit as to how long they like a single installment of a series to be? Chapter 32 was quite a hefty read I do admit, and based on what's going to happen next, I'm anticipating that the follow up chapters will likewise be around 8,000 - 15,000 words each if I'm to give everyone sufficient time.

Would everyone be okay with that, or would they prefer I try to go for shorter chapters that are easier to get through? As I see it the only challenge will be trying to keep the plot moving smoothly over a greater quantity of installments, and I'm sure I can manage that if it's what my readers want.

Personally, I think 4k to 6k is a good general length for chapters to most stories. It's long enough to allow complex events and developments to happen within the span of one chapter, but not so long that getting through it becomes a slog. 8k is also still readable, but 15k is the kind of length that makes a lot of people feel it's just stretching on for too long. Sometimes there's just no natural breaking point for a chapter and that kind of thing happens, but I think it stops flowing well at that point.

Honestly I don't mind short or long chapters. :derpytongue2:

there is nothing as a too long chapter but i dont like short chapters that is something that ruins a story for me

Personally I find long chapter's enjoyable, it gives me more and more time to soak into a story and really get involved. Then again I'm a nutter that likes to read long books within a few days if left alone so it could just be me.

Either way you should really do what YOU the author feel is easier and more natural, it is in truth you that has to type these stories out and make sure your plot doesn't go off the rails. Oh and of course the story lives or dies on how much you are enjoying yourself as you type it out.

But yeah the short of it is, I love long posts. But I don't mind shorter ones when needed.

I couldn't say how much is too long since if its updated then I'll read.. Just like how Legacy had a 97k chapter..

My take on it is, as long as we get 2 a month hinestly i love this story but i can wait, if it means being as polished as it is. But please don't abandon this. There are too many good stories out there that get abandoned and I don't want this one to become one of those stories.

3634334 Oh I have no intention of abandoning this. Far from it. I merely wish to know how to make it as pleasant a read as possible.
