    Seath's size problem.

I figure it's time I stop being annoyingly silent on an issue many have asked about and confirm that yes, I'm listening:

Happy New Year everyone! How about some story progress?

So, finally, it's here! One of the most trying years for many of us is at last concluded, and I wake today to a cold, clear and sunny first day of 2019. Really, really hope that's an omen of things finally changing for the better cause I daresay we all need it.

Few more teasers, just a few months late. XS

I know I promised this back in July but, well, if you saw my blog from there, things have continued to be rough in real life. Thankfully it looks like that may at last be changing so I've found the vigor to get back to writing again.

'Romancing the Recently Revealed Robot' isn't dead yet, it just needs some help...

'Romancing the Recently Revealed Robot' isn't dead yet, it just needs some help... · 5:42am Aug 13th, 2018

Wanted to post this after checking in here and noticing the above series has found its way into a few collections that have been labelled as variations on 'dead series'. I accept full blame for folk thinking that, but if it matters at this point, I'm not giving up on my Spike x Sweetie Bot scenario just yet. It's just fallen by the wayside as attention has naturally gravitated towards 'Scaleless' and me being the diehard Soulsborne fan I am, my motivation has been to keep that series momentum going (that and of course life just keeps throwing wrenches in the works towards other projects).

My problem with 'Romancing the Recently Revealed Robot' is, honestly, I have no idea where I want the series to go from where it left off. The most I can come up with is Rarity and Sweetie tying up one loose end and that's kind of where I've run out of steam. I can sort of see a vague idea for where the series could go, but I can't really keep going on just that. So if folk want to see it continue, I'm gonna need some ideas.

If you want more Spike x Sweetie Bot, here's your chance to do so. Mean time here's a little teaser to hopefully whet some appetites:

“And if there is anything else you need, just ring the bell!” Lotus gleefully exclaimed after making sure both Sweetie and Rarity were as comfortable as could be in their baths. Two glasses of bubbling champagne sat on the side of the bathing area, while zen like string music echoed from the spa’s sound system, providing the finishing touches to a most relaxing atmosphere.

Sweetie almost hated herself for thus disrupting the mood with a question that she simply couldn’t chase from her mind.

“Before you go, Lotus...you’re sure this mix of lubricating fluid and oil isn’t going to damage the lining of the baths or clog the drains?” The robot unicorn muttered as her face went red with blush. “I mean, all my bodyparts are both waterproof and rust proof. A normal mineral bath would’ve been just fine.”

Rather than look offended, Lotus just smiled.

“Nonsense! We cater to the needs of all ponies here, be they flesh or machine! Miss Rarity insisted this was more beneficial to you, based on Miss Artemis’ recommendation!”

Sweetie looked to her sister who just winked as she levitated her champagne over to her mouth.

“The point of coming to the spa is to be pampered, darling. Are you implying that the feel of your joints getting some much needed extra smoothing out isn’t heavenly?” Rarity queried as she took a sip of the fizzy, fruitful concoction.

Sweetie looked at the steamy, amber toned liquid she was soaking in. She shifted her shoulders and rolled them back, finding the action came a little easier than normal thanks to the oil and lube working their magic on her robotic parts.

“No, no, it’s quite nice actually. Just...well, not something I expected from the Ponyville spa.”

Lotus giggled.

“We have two of you to cater to now. From what Princess Twilight says, more may follow. It is only good business sense that we adjust our range of services accordingly.” She said while trotting to the door. “I’ll come back and check on you two in half an hour. Enjoy your baths!”

Sweetie gave the spa pony a bewildered look as she shut the door behind her.

“More may follow, she says with such enthusiasm.”

The robot summoned her own champagne and sipped generously.

“My cover literally gets blown by a cooking accident and everypony’s top concern is first that I’m okay, and then where the heck Opal was during the explosion. We discover my origins are tied to...some other realm of existence, and the reaction is how soon can a welcome party be held and when can ponies start planning their vacation time to tour this new reality. Twilight comes back from said realm of reality with a new marefriend, who’s also a robot....and my actual mom...erm...creator....whatever! Point is all I’ve heard from the the gossip columns’ is how soon will we hear the wedding bells chime across Ponyville again.”

Rarity furrowed her brow in confusion as Sweetie slumped back in her bath.

“I wonder if in one of the other versions of Equestria this exact same series of events is playing out with more of the expected reactions from everypony.”

Rarity now narrowed her eyes.

“The expected reactions? Whatever do you mean by that, Sweetie?”

The robot unicorn nearly choked on her champagne as she caught that subtle hint of disappointment in her sister’s voice. Even after all their lives together it was still damn unnerving how Rarity was able to make her words hit as if they’d been spoken in the Royal Canterlot voice, and simply by lacing her tone with only a drop of venom.

Setting her glass down, trying not to break it in the process, Sweetie turned to Rarity and felt her circuits fizzle at the scolding glint radiating from her sibling’s eyes, like the shine of a razor sharp blade as it found its way between one’s ribs.

“I mean...I mean...erm....” Sweetie’s resolve smoldered along with her argument. “I...I’m sorry. It’s just...well as I said to Spike, I’ve contemplated and calculated what might happen if everyone found out I’m a robot. So many calculations, so many outcomes, yet it seems the more things pan out, the more my eyes are open to something I frankly should’ve realised long ago about how unpredictable ponies are.”

Let me know what you all think.

Well, if you run out of ideas, maybe it's for the best to mark it as complete when the time comes.

Besides, you can always add more ideas if you get them afterwards right?

I was always really intrigued by this story, but I also really liked Friendship is Scaleless.
