A Challenger Has Arrived! · 10:15pm Aug 16th, 2012

Or rather, some snooty little dude called "darthtater110" that has decided to steal my story My Little Metro and claim it as their own on DeviantArt. Worst part is, it shows up on the first page of Google via the image search when you type in "My Little Metro."

Please, for the love of Pete, don't believe him. I'm pretty sure nobody who's actually seen it thinks it's his, since, well, my story's been around forever. But I'm going to message him about it anyway.

Apparently it's been around since, like, April. I don't know how I didn't notice it before.

WTF is wrong with some people.

Heaven only knows, really. I'm just glad they seemed to stop at chapter 7. I'm willing to bet they're not even around anymore, but I'd rather not take the chance, so I decided to say something.

Damn, that sucks. And with my favorite story too? The hell is wrong with people?

Be sure to use the feature on EQD (especially the dates) as evidence to support your claim. You have my support.

No, no - you have to consider the context. For example, in "My Little Metro" by RedSquirrel456, we read the lines,

I’m not sure why I collect things the way I do, except to satisfy my strange, romantic notions of keeping old dreams alive. I think it’s because I know that somepony would appreciate it.

In this story, Lockbox is merely describing one of his character traits, and foreshadowing his attempt to realize this old dreams. This is a traditional story driven by character, action, and plot.

Compare this to "My Little Metro" by darthtater110, in which we read the lines,

I’m not sure why I collect things the way I do, except to satisfy my strange, romantic notions of keeping old dreams alive. I think it’s because I know that somepony would appreciate it.

Here, the author is making a brilliant ironic meta-textual commentary on his own habit of collecting and refurbishing the words of other authors, and explaining that this behavior is an attempt to recapture the innocence of the earlier days of My Little Pony fandom, exemplified by the reference to the work of RedSquirrel456 from an earlier generation of ponyfiction authors.

Sweet Celestia. Everything makes so much sense now!

I'll never be able to keep writing after this epiphany! His brilliant wordplay has left me stricken with self-doubt! :pinkiegasp:
