    Good morning, Fimfiction.

Two things, right off the bat:

I am back on a limited basis, to be terminated as and when I feel like it.

    I'm a girl now.

How Hard it is to Turn the Page: Dealing with Grief & Writing What You Know

I didn't really realize what I was writing about when I wrote In the Dark of the Wood. I wanted to write something before the year was officially over, and for some reason I had an Applejack itch. I started looking through the impressive gallery of NCMares, an artist who I knew was A) one of my favorites and B) did a lot of Applejack, knowing I'd hit my inspiration when I saw it. I hit on

    400 Followers: A Lot's Changed

About a year ago, I wrote the blog post celebrating 300 followers. In it, I expressed uncertainty about the state of the future, and said I felt good about that uncertainty.

Now, here we are. A year's passed. The world didn't end. I've started university.

And, oh yeah. I fell in love.

Tangentially Related to the Addition of Warning Tags, some words on why such tags are lacking.

This Isn't War is not a story about suicide, you brainless, cynical wastrels.

What We Write About When We Write About War

I've never really looked at my own body of work and tried to suss out a general theme. As far as I know, I don't really have an identity as far as what I write, at best having one for how I write. I don't know that you could sum my work on Fimfiction up in one sentence, the way you could say that Majin Syeekoh writes irreverent comedy with intermittent navel-gazing, or that Carapace and friends

Hey guys! Guess what?

Iron Wing and the Demolition Crew ain't nowhere near done!

Yeah, I just don't know when to stop riding this gravy train! Expect at least three more chapters over the coming week, maybe even more if the reception stays this overwhelmingly positive!

But don't worry, I'm not abandoning everything else for this! Far from it, in fact!

Note: The rest of this journal is basically pointless if you only care about Iron Wing. Just letting you know that.

For those of you who've been around a little longer, you'll know I've got one or two larger projects sitting in my gallery that haven't exactly been updated all that recently. Rocks Ain't Known For Conversation isn't that bad, having gone only one week without an update, but then there's The Other Purple Alicorn. According to Fimfiction's fancy comment-dating system, it's been roughly thirteen weeks since I updated that bad boy.

Now, some of you, especially the newcomers, might ask "Moriarty, why are you bringing this up? There's way bigger stories that go months, sometimes even years, without updating! So what if you let the schedule slip once or twice? Why are you even talking about those has-beens, especially that one that none of us have read and that's barely more than the bloated tumor of a lazy headcanon dump?" To which I can only answer, because I'm not a quitter.

And so, my brethren and sistren, I say unto thee, that I will not stand for the word 'Incomplete' in my house! By the end of this, the year that Marty McFly came to the future, ALL of my stories will be completely, utterly, FINISHED! We will put the past behind us, bring good things to their glorious end, and look to a magnificent future as the Fifth Great Hiatus begins!

I don't really have any schedule in mind beyond this blanket term of 'within the month'. I hope to put out the final chapter of Rocks on Hearth's Warming itself, but other than that, nothing concrete.

So, yeah. There will be more war-horse-words, I will finish the love-horse-words, and also those other horse words will stop being incomplete.

MERRY DECEMBER!

Great to hear. I can see a lot of potential in the story. I think Pinkie has a lot of potential for a nice character arc.
