Why was Pinkie bringing in cake for the throne room if she knew nobody was in there? She can't have been preparing a surprise for Twilight, since she was the only one there and she ate the cake regardless.
Unless...
That's right.
Pinkie met Starlight earlier and, as Pinkie is a master of wordplay and fooling her adversaries, managed to convince Starlight to leave the scroll with Twilight, thus giving the chances Twilight needed to save the day.
Pinkie confirmed for saviour of Equestria.

P.S. I should totally write a fic on this. Then expand it by having Pinkie's involvement with Starlight resulting in her also getting tossed into the past and alternate timelines...

That doesn't really follow, given she takes no effort to actually find Twilight, she just eats the cake without second thought. Further more, she's the only one there. Why didn't she invite the rest of her friends?
Her 'huh?' implies she expected to find someone in there already. Could've been Twi but I doubt she gave an exact time when she'd be back. Plus Pinkie's the type to lay in wait and pop out for a surprise, not just stroll in with cake.
