I want to write again but I need your thoughts! · 1:00pm Jan 21st, 2018
Since I've settled into an easygoing life, with a new computer at my side, I'm getting that writing bug again. It pays to have friends who write in that regard, since you tend to look at them and be a little ashamed that you aren't matching their output at all.
I'm stuck between two options though. Sure, I can write both, but it'd be nice to know which one I should start with. Without further ado...
Option A: The Human Urban Fantasy
Genre: Urban Fantasy, set in the modern world
Main Characters: Pinkie Pie, Sunset Shimmer, Lyra Heartstrings
Shipping? Perhaps. Not at the forefront of my mind at the moment.
Brief Synopsis: In a modern world, things are slowly becoming unstable. The precious balance between Harmony and Discord, maintained for centuries by magi, has broken down, the ways of magic lost to all but a few. For one girl, such things are far beyond her understanding, stuck in a humdrum town working as a waitress in a simple diner. By all accounts, she should lead a perfectly normal life. But Pinkie is far from a normal girl. Pinkie can see the future.
Or, at least, the extremely short term future.
Option B: Princess Ponk
Genre: Initially Slice of Life, later transitioning into Adventure
Main Characters: Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle
Shipping? Potentially.
Brief Synopsis: Following the Storm King's downfall, Twilight has a very interesting proposition for Pinkie Pie...

Note that since I'm me (the author), I get final choice on what gets written. This is still a nice way to gauge potential interest in my writings though.

Huh. Honestly, both of those options sound fascinating. I guess if I had to choose, I'd lean towards option B, but it's a very close decision.
Option C: I really like that Wrestling AU that you talked about. What happened to that?

I do have plans for that, actually. Kinda major ones. But I wanna ease myself into writing again before resuming that.
I like all the options to be honest but on the poll I went with option A since lately I have found I really enjoy EG Pinkie with SUnset Shimmer stories (those scenes in the most recent movie just work really well with them and allows me to distinguish EG PInkie ships for me from Pony Pinkie).
I also really enjoy Twinkie stories and adventure so option B is still good to me.
Lastly if I went with option C outside of course PinkieDash stories which I would take in any way shape or form the one specific story I would like to see if you have as story in you for it is another story in the human universe where you had Pinkie as a cop and Dash as a physical education teacher. I thought that story was interesting and different and so seeing more would be neat though I am not sure that you had any stories to tell in it though which is the question that would need to be answered.
Well, there's at least one author out there -- don't remember if he's a reader of yours -- who'd likely agree with me, but I'd like to see a Diamond Mint-centric story. (If you or and of the blog readers don't know who that is, well, there's your link.)
Hm, I'd say A appeals to me more than B. Something you also might want to consider is writing a short story/one-shot of something to stretch out your writing legs as you think over what to do for a longer story. Sometimes starting on the shallow end of the pool can help warm you up for the deeper end.
