Hello everyone, I'm back with an announcement! post! The new story I announced a week ago will be arriving tomorrow!
Now then, I suppose I should recount a few things I said about the story last time, and dish out just a few more details to whet your appetites. In the last post, you may have noticed that there never was mention of the piece's title.
It is now time to reveal that. The name of this new fic will be:
Hindsight
Here is the cover art once more, done by Coffee Munch. One look at that should give you some clue as to what this story will be. However, what kind of an author would I be if I didn't clarify?
Hindsight will be a rather unconventional story in that it is my personal response to the total flood of Marble Pie x Big Macintosh shipping that has beset this fandom in the wake of "Hearthbreakers". I could have gone the cheap route and written a cheap fic about Cheerilee stealing Big Mac back from Marble, but that wouldn't be a story worth writing in my opinion. Instead, here's the story's long description:
Hearts and Hooves Day really was a whirlwind, especially for Cheerilee and Big Macintosh. They remained friends in wake of the fiasco that almost ended in hasty marriage, and Cheerilee never gave their friendship any further thought. They were just friends, nothing more.
However, when she learns of Big Mac and Marble Pie's fling over the Hearth's Warming holiday, Cheerilee begins to dwell upon her friendship with Big Mac. Could there have been something more to their relationship that she hadn't realized before?
After all, hindsight is 20/20.
If you're a follower of Learning Curve, you may be delighted to know that this story takes place in the same universe as that story. It will not affect the canon of Learning Curve, and does not take place in the same time frame (LC starts around a year before FiM, while Hindsight is current with season 5 canon), but some of the locations and characters contained within will be familiar to you.
I cannot tell you the exact time it will be posted due to the fact that approval time varies, but I can tell you that I will post one last teaser in the form of a short excerpt when I submit the fic for publishing. And one last thing: Hindsight will update daily until it is finished.
