No, I didn’t forget; I’ve been pretty busy with school stuff, plus some… medical issues, so I’ve just barely seen this episode. Since it was nowhere to be found on YouTube, I had to record it on the TV and I didn’t get to see it until after I got off work at 10 (Dailymotion can go suck the Omnissiah’s clockwork taint). Now then, onto mien thoughts!
Well, at least I can celebrate my favorite holiday a little more with this episode, although the whole “Fluttershy’s the timed one” jokes became annoying as time went on. It’s especially pretty grating in the two scenes where she’s being paranoid, and I just wanted them to wrap up as soon as possible. The scene where Flutters puts on the “scary tea party” was definitely entertaining, as I knew the scene was going to be a train wreck, so I had an evil grin on my face the whole time. Plus, Fluttershy’s not a half-bad artist, even if it was an excuse for the show staff to throw in some sketches of crossover art (I recognized Sailor Moon, Ranma, and one of the guys from NeonGenesis Evangelion, no idea who the other two were though). The tunnel under the corn maze scene was pretty entertaining as well, although I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who knew it was the bear in the Creature costume (that, and Fuzzy-Legs’ webs are apparently made from nylon rope and coated in super-glue). But, is it just me, or did Flutters turn from a pony who knows nothing about horror and how to effectively pull it off, to somepony who’s able to fucking terrify her friends to the point of tears to be a bit of a 180? In any case, good episode, and I’ll say that Fluttershy’s reason to not celebrate Nightmare Night anymore is pretty, well, reasonable; it kind of reminds me a bit of my mom and how it’s one of her reasons of why she usually wants nothing to do with Halloween or anything associated with it.
I’ll definitely get to the next episode much quicker this time, possibly by either Sunday or Monday. Til’ next time, folks!
