RWBY Revisit: Trailers and Episode One · 6:33am Nov 3rd, 2015
HEEEERE WE GO, KIDDIES!
Trailer Red
Still my favorite. Creepy, awesome music, Scythes, and Ruby. Need I say more?
Ruby wields what appears to be an Omolon Eirene/Scythe fusion, and it is glorious.
10/10.
Trailer White
Better than I remember. Wiess (God, that is how you spell it, right?) Has a Dust-Powered Wand/Rapier that makes me think of Asuna. Not a bad thing.
#Curtsey
10/10
Trailer Black
First of the two 'long' trailers. We see Blake and some guy assault a train full 'o Robos. Sweet. Sword dude seems like he'll be important later... Eh, whatever.
Blake's got some badass cleaver-kinda swords that are also Pistol-whips.
Not the action in which you smack a man with a gun, but Pistols tied to the end of whips.
This may be my favorite weapon.
9.5/10, Sword guy's voice seemed off.
Trailer Yellow
Yay! Yang! Her personality is oddly like Cielle's. It's actually pretty cool.
She uses solid gold Shotgun/Gauntlets that are just... beautiful.
10/10.
EPISODE ONE
Holy balls, Gangster Pimp Crime-Lord man is most certainly a Gangster Pimp Crime-Lord.
Like, damn.
Blah blah DUST TILL DAWN KEK SO PUNNY blah blah-
"Dis is a robbery!"
*Sees Ruby in corner of shop*
Ohhhh!
DIS
GON
B
GUD!
Ruby probably kills the poor bastards- doesn't return the Dust though :/ - And chases off after GPCL. He also has a gun cane. Legit.
Rooftop scene is rooftop scene.
OH SNAP! A VTOL!
GPCL throws red Dust, shoots it with Gun Cane, Ruby is dead. The End-
JUST KIDDING!
Witch Lady is witch lady- sorry, Huntress-, proceeds to try and Rek the VTOL, but GPCL's accomplice- also a Huntress- Is a fire chick and defends the VTOL long enough for them to escape.
Neat.
Ruby fangirls out at the Huntress afterwards, #Relateable, but is sent to Generic Interrogation room #7.
Huntress scolds Ruby, but tells her somebody wants to see her-
Hey! It's the default Robin from Fire Emblem Awakening! Nice glasses, buddy.
Ruby's ADD personality shines through here, and I like it. She reminds me of younger me.
Anywho, she's accepted into Bacon school or whatever, it's a fancy place where you learn to kill shit- sorry, Grimm.
BLIMP RIDE SCENE COMMENCE!
Yaaaaang!
YAAAAANG!
Anyways, GPCL's real name is Roman Torchwick, which gets two thumbs up from me, and yeah. That's about it.
The animation is certainly different from my usual 2D anime experiance, but works, especially for the fight scenes.
However, if you plan on having people eat cookies, you should probably do that in 2D.
Episode One gets a 10/10, no real flaws, action, and HELL YES THIS SHOW'S SOUNDTRACK are starting off this series right.
I really like Ruby/Yang's personality.
Let's hope I can say the same about Wiess and Blake
