    A Lost Sunset

    Hello everypony,

If you've seen recent blog posts, you know I've been cancelling my stories. I've lost interest in writing and...well, I honestly haven't been able to come up with ideas for my stories. This includes A Lost Sunset, as I had no idea where to go with it, and still don't.

    Some News

    Hi everypony,

I come today to say...well, I'm cancelling my stories. I'm going to cancel the smaller ones first, as I honestly don't remember where I was going to go with those stories. These stories being the Twilight and Moondancer Investigations, Crystal Queen of Sunsets and The Funny Little Guy.

Hello,

Recently, I've been trying to write 'The Rainboom Thieves' and trying to get everything good and going...but it isn't working out. On one side, I've had messages and comments over how I don't edit the story very well and have no editor and the beginning is horrible because I wrote multiple chapters in one day and didn't really look over them. On the other side, the arcs I'm about to write, I feel they will put me in a corner. I really don't want to write myself into a corner.

Because of this, for the first time since I've probably started the story, I'm seriously considering dropping the story. I'm beyond conflicted. I know what the ending is and I know how I want it to end. But if my readers don't like it, well...I don't want to let you all down.

I don't know what to do!

So...I'm asking all of you, would you like me to continue the story? I have three more arcs planned and a few more down the line. Or, should I concentrate on going back and trying to fix old chapters? (Which, I've looked back at them and despite a few minor edits...I can't see the problems very well. I like those chapters)

One piece of writing advice I've read is that once you've finished the story, put it in a desk drawer and leave it there for a month, then read it over. Granted this story isn't finished, but perhaps you need to step back and let your head clear. And don't take comments too seriously. They may be pointing out flaws, that's a plus, but they're not in control, you are. :trollestia: Take them with a grain of salt (or a ton if you feel it necessary).

3441087 First off, thanks for responding. Second, I took a month break from this story before doing the last two chapters and I felt terrible about that. I know its my story but...I want to entertain people. I don't know. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep going. That and I need a whole lot of salt.

3441205 Well...I just don't want them to think I gave up on the story. Though you are right with the whole finding minor things...Thanks.

I would like you to continue with this story, but I'll support your desision.

3441566 Knowing me, I won't give up on the story, its just...I don't want to let you all down.

Nothing wrong with going back and editing the first few chapters of the story before continuing! Often re-reading what you've written before will strengthen your grasp on the characters and setting and help give you a few more ideas about how to finish the fic!

3441685 Well...I guess that's true. The problem is that I don't see that much that needs to be improved.

You mention fear of writing yourself into a corner. :trixieshiftleft: :trixieshiftright: Go ahead. Write it, you don't have to publish it, just don't let it stop you. Maybe it will inspire you. You can always hit reverse and back out.

3443210 Well...its more of that I don't have any other ideas on how to get to the ending.
