6 volumes? · 5:25am Oct 3rd, 2015
Please check my previous blog for information about the Tournament of Canterlot. It's still going on.
Anyway, I've been debating about whether or not to divide up The Lost Element into 6 volumes instead of the originally planed 5. This is due to Volume 3 already being quite long and having a fair number of chapters to go before it finishes, even though the main plotline for it has concluded.
My question is this. Would it be best to end Volume 3 at Bedlam's Requiem and start the fourth volume at Kindred Suns as a slew of slice-of-life chapters like most of Volume 1?
*EDIT*
I have decided to end Volume 3 at Bedlam's Requiem and started Volume 4 with Kindred Suns. The subtitle of this volume is Day By Day. Where the other five volumes subtly explore various aspects of the human spirit, Volume 4 does not and basically will consist of a number of chapters in a more slice-of-life style seen in the first volume that should feel much like episodes in a season of MLP FiM, showing events in James' life as he is now fully integrated into Equestria's society with the final chapter of the volume ending with James and Fluttershy's wedding.
Sounds like a great plan to me.
Bedlam's Requiem is indeed the kind o chapter with the kind of ending I'd expect at the end of a book, or 'volume' as worded here, and seeing how Volume 3 has indeed been getting long already I think it'd be a great idea to split it up in 2 Volumes.
I agree with the person below me. Bedlam's Requiem should end that volume
I'm one of those people who downloads stories for offline reading, with a fairly throttled connection at that. And speaking from that standpoint, I'd certainly be happy if #3 was split into two, as it's already a pain to download updated versions of full .html file.
