    Computer Troubles

I recently took my computer in for inspection and found out that either the charge port had shorted out or the motherboard is having issues. This means that my computer can't charge a battery. Thankfully, I still have warranty on it, so it's out for repairs. I have been issued a loaner in the meantime, so I will be able to continue my normal editing activities. Sadly though, I can't download

    Merry Christmas!

Not really too much to say here, but have a good time everyone!

Now is one of those few times I'm the year where everyone can get together with their families and share a nice talk over cups of hot chocolate and coffee and laugh about good times.

Remember everyone, it's not about the gifts. It's the memories you make. Hope you all have a good one!

The Final Day · 1:59am Sep 28th, 2015

So, day three began with quite a rush for me. I got up at 7am sharp and jumped through my morning routine to meet outside the convention at 0800 to prep our panel. We ended up doing our panel a little late, starting it at 9:15am. We had a pretty decent showing and got a lot of good participation, laughs, and just a bit of shameless self promotion. I'll see what I can do about a video at a later date, I'll have to check with FamousLastWords.

But we had a couple of special guests who came to weigh in on our panel a little bit. We had my new friend Grand_Moff_Pony work our technology for us. I'm planning on taking a look at his fics, and you guys should too! And we had one more special guest at our panel. For a special activity that required a sacrificial lamb to be offered to the textual void of Nightmare Star's Revenge, we had the one and only Tommy Oliver do a wonderful reading of the fic. It was hysterical. :rainbowlaugh: He did everything we could have possibly hoped for in a reading of that story.

Then, in the panel, we had quite a few good entries for fun, quickfire ideas. We heard some great tales coming from our chosen prompt: "Oh My God, A Giant Rock!" Famous will release the stories on one of his own blogs, I assume, and I won't steal his thunder for that.

So, after we finished our panel, Calm, I, and the rest of our little gang talked a little bit with our new friends and talked a while. Then, I went to listen to the panels by Tommy Oliver. He made back-to-back appearances and talked lots about his own experiences with fiction and fandoms, and we learned a lot about what he's been doing, and a lot about Metal Gear Solid V. What a laugh! :rainbowlaugh:

After lunch, we ran through one last run in the vendor hall. I ended up buying a few pieces of artwork of a few of the convention mascots, Buckweiser and Flying Spirit, by The Doctor Sora.

She's a great girl, and was a lot of fun to talk to. She even has great tastes in games, with Kingdom Hearts and The Last of Us, to name a few.

After that, it was time for Lee Tockar's third panel of the convention. We started it off with an absolutely heartening interview of the little girl I mentioned before, Virginia. She told us all about Minecraft and how she had killed a whole 25 zombies! That kid's gonna go far. :ajsmug: Lee told us a few more stories and answered lots of questions for us, and it was a lot like yesterday's panel, but he's just got a lot to say. He's good friends with the mane six and also even has a bromance with our spirit of discord, John de Lancie.

Finally, it came time for the charity auction at the end of the convention. It was a great event to be at. I'm sorry that Calm had to miss it to drive back to his home. We started up with the announcement of the pun jar, which had been constantly racking up quarters for puns made at the convention all weekend. We had to show it and make it known that puns had to be punished with donations, specifically since Pirate Dash was there. We had a lot of good puns, and we even got some badges for making some particularly good ones (along with making donations to the jar). They ran out of them, and The Doctor Sora was at that moment going into a Rarity-esque faint from another pun while auctioning off some more of her mascot prints. I then proceeded to yell out to her "Where is your Flying Spirit!?" To which I received a standing ovation, two hugs, several jaw drops, and people trying to give me their previously earned badges in respect XD Needlessly to say, I felt pretty proud. :twilightsheepish: I took my bows and everything. The badges were of a Fourth of July redesign of the fourth mascot of the convention, Pun Salad, celebrating A-mare-ica!

Then, as the auction went on, there was a good amount of stuff that I wanted, but didn't get, but I did manage to come away with one thing that I really wanted. I managed to get my hands on a framed print of all three of the mascots of the convention. Our wonderful couple Toasted Rav and Buckweiser, and Flying Spirit together under the Saint Louis Arch, all in crystal pony form for the fair.

Altogether, this convention was one of the best weekends I've had in a while. I met friends and made new ones, came away with some good merchandise and memories, and maybe even a few ideas for future writing! I hope you all have fun in the future too! To friendship!

Can't wait to see the video. I am so glad you had fun.

Glad to see you had fun, Kestrel!

So...about that. I forgot to press record on my camera... :fluttercry:

Also, you forget toemtion how you made a little girl leave with your dirty mind. :rainbowlaugh:

Please, if anyone made her leave, which she didn't until the end of the panel, it would have been you telling her that you hated the fact that her story had a giant rock landing on Spike :derpyderp2:

Thanks so much! It was great to meet you and the other panelists! :)

3426253

No problem! Great to meet another great Saint Louisan! Gotta represent the homefront, don't we? :ajsmug: This is our town, and we're cool people who live in it.

Heh, I kind of had tge same experience as you! Only difference was that I didn't go to a con. Instead I just watched mazr runner with my friends, and we also played brawl, but yea, so much fun.

3426565

By the way, I had a badge printed out for me with my avatar art: your art. I got quite a few compliments on it in particular. You're good! Don't sell yourself short, my friend!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I wanted I wanted to see senpai Calm and Kes being dummies on a panel.. YOU RUINED MY DREAMS. *sob sob sob*

Also, Calm, PB and Kes going to a con without me... How meaaaaaan! :raritydespair:

3427044

WE were awesome on the panel anyway, so you still wod have been disappointed.

3427391
I have a hard time believing that.

3427577

Well, you weren't there. It actually went really well.

3427616
Okay, if you say so~

3427840

We got a picture with Tommy Oliver that I'll have to procure sometime, and he seemed to enjoy being there, so I'll take it as a win.

3427892
Lucky bastards! I'm subscribed to him, he makes great videos.

3426573 :pinkiegasp: really?! Wow that means a lot:twilightblush:

3428399

Yeah man. Believe in yourself more.

3428466 heh, yea I know. That's why I'm doing a different sport, cuz in fencing all people do is compete and look down on each other. But I love my new one, I feel more at home and it's raising my confidence.

3428696

Sounds more like people who are too competitive. My fencing club back home was full of nice people who had a lot of camaraderie.

3428829 huh, wish I could've gone there. Oh well, the "sport" I'm in, dragonboat, is so much fun though. I also love the idea of belonging that's establushed there. It just feels, well like I'm starting to get a 2nd family. Even though it's tough, the workout oays off and you get so many role modeks and friends.
