Oh my stars and guarders... That, that was... I can't even put it into words. I'll have to let this pussy Simon Curtis do the talking.
I hate it... I hate it so much, that I personally think that every EQG film after this one will be shit! I'm literally turned off by the EQG series now! The main villain principal snatch or snitch, whatever her retarded name is, is amazingly retarded. The story was a boat load of dog shit covered in rhino splooge that was eaten and spit out by a brain dead monkey! Almost everyone but Sunset, her gang, and Twilight were unlikable and downright mean as fuck, and idiotic in every form!
Not to mention Cadence does not translate into human well. I mean, OMG, I thought she looked like she had Downs!
This movie is so bad, I'd rather be shot in the knee than watch it again! No, I'd rather be pissed on by a tree full of monkeys, then thrown into a horse shit pile, then have liquid shit run down my ear and be used as a fap tissue by a dinosaur!
But... I'll be honest, the ending was pretty cool. But that's where my appreciation ends. Also, we all know Hasbro wants to pull a Kora and whats her face, and have Twilight and Sunset be an item but they're stuck in kid's show land...
What sucks was I was kind of looking forward to the movie. I knew it would suck anyway, but I was still looking forward to it. But then... It just ruined me. Will I write any fics regarding or even mentioning this film? No, has it happened in my head canon? It's not even existent. Instead, I'm just gonna carry on being a brony, pretending I never saw this flick.
To me, the last EQG movie was Rainbow Rocks. I wonder when they'll release the third installment...

Actually I found it solid. It's not as good as Rainbow Rocks but that's a tall order; the finale was possibly the best of the three movies and as for Cadance, when have ANY of the adult designs in EQG looked good? They just don't translate as well as the students do for some reason.
So yeah, I kinda think you might have had your expectations too high here.

And that's the problem. Expecting a sequel to exceed the prior film is dooming it before it even begins, you need to be able to take each movie on it's own benefits. Is it as good as Rainbow Rocks? Nope. Is it a good film on it's own? Eeyup (aside from nowhere near enough SunLight shipping :P)
3422817 Oh you can easily tell the guys in Hasbro wanted to do the SunLight thing so badly. They're very subtly hinting at SunLight anyhow, that's better than nothing.
But you're somewhat right. I can't always expect a sequel to do better than it's predecessor, but you have to expect it to be as good as it's predecessor, or just good in general, but I feel like they dropped the ball on this one.

I personally liked this movie. I thought it was pretty descent in the first two parts and I especially enjoyed the climax. I think this is what EG needed in order to give it the series that Hasbro has been trying to make. Was it spectacular? No, but was it descent? Yes
