back and still moving forward, and new blog challenge · 6:03am Sep 8th, 2015
At forty four hundred plus words and rising, I'm really enjoying how Chapter 10 is going, and thanks to the advice I've been receiving it looks a lot cleaner than some of my previous chapters. I hope to deliver a winning product for all this hype I'm putting out.
I read all the suggested shipping stories I was sent and enjoyed a good portion of them. So to all those who read this, a new challenge, or a chance to promote your own stories. Why should I do this you ask? The answer is simple, there are stories out there that have long since faded from the spotlight that are absolute joy to read. I don't have Rarity's ability to find them, I'm stuck doing it the old fashioned way, and sifting through millions of words to find that next story i keep going back to read is gold for those who love their view counts to keep going up. I still read "It takes a village, and I first read it on EQD. I found it here and i still read it even more, in fact I got sidetracked writing this post to reread my favorite chapter.
Choose your best story for me to read and review in a comment. For those who respond without a story to offer, a story you absolutely would fav the hell out of. I'm opening the floodgates on this one, any tag is open game. If the story is not your own I will mention who referred me in my comment on that story.
Oh man I've got to get back on board with catching up on Among Luna's Stars. I've gotten so bad at finding time to read lately
In any event, you've already read my only story (although I should have a new one in a couple weeks if you feel so inclined ) so I'll promote some others here.
My initial thought for stories that have faded away was Love Me... I Mean, If You're Okay With Me. But the thing is while it is a great story the author isn't a native English speaker. It's not really noticeable in his stories these days, but that one was written while he was still learning. Even though the grammar mistakes are understandable some people find that sort of thing incredibly frustrating to read, so your call on that one.
Last time I recommended three out of four of the story's that inspired me to write fanfiction (stretching the hell out of the shipping story prompt to recommend Hard Reset) so I suppose I'll recommend the fourth now. Que Sera, Sera is a story I've never stopped thinking about. It's also rather hugely popular so you may well have already read it. I actually used to look down on fanfiction as something people did when they couldn't think of their own stories, but that changed when I stumbled across Hard Reset and realized fanfiction was just as viable of a artistic media as any other. Then I read Que Sera, Sera and realized that there were some things you really can only do in fanfiction, because your audience is already familiar with the source material. The story so moving because it gets straight to the heart of things, something only possible in fanfiction.
I don't think I've ever finished Hard Reset, you're not the only one to play catch up. The last two suggestions I don't think I've read. I'll know more when I get home from work.
