Lately, my desire to write real novels has been returning. Rather than abandon ponyfiction altogether, however, I've decided to combine the two.
I've read quite a few Human in Equestria stories, and while some of them are really well-written and interesting, they all seem to follow the same pattern: a human is having a rough time in life, and a portal to Equestria opens for no apparent reason. So, I decided to give HiE another shot, starting this one off with a much different premise.
The good Mr. Arby Works has agreed to do the cover-art for this story, so as soon as that's finished, the story is going public. Meantime, I'm going to continue work on The Fluttershop Pet Emporium.
Speaking of Arby Works, go check his DeviantArt page out. This guy has mad skills, and he recently finished a very impressive Bane-Spike image that I think you'll all enjoy.

How to make it work? Several ways!
- Science! Science how? You are part of a research project looking into time travel, and instead of traveling through time, you travel through dimensions.
- Magic! Magic how? Simple, you can have magic in the human world exist, and kinda like a science experiment, you have a magical experiment. Granted, this is similar to science, but with magic instead, but yuppies!
- The third best way I can think off the top of my head is a sort of Harry Potter sort of situation, where the ponies are technically on earth, don't require any special things to get to, but yet, aren't known by the majority of the world through various different reasons.

Oh! I got it now. Yeah... they kinda can be, but you have to do a good job explaining it. DeM (for me) is "I was walking down the street, then BOOM! PONY PORTAL!"

Well, like I said, my definition of DeM is a situation where its obvious the author is thinking, "I don't know how to make it work... blah! I'll make it work anyways!" As long as there is some buildup to it, or at least some kind of explanation afterwards as to why (A science experiment to travel through time goes through space, and the malfunction is later revealed to have occurred because in the same "place" in MLP dimensions, there was an experiment doing the same thing with magic, leading to the energies intertwining). If its never explained, or the explanation sucks (Portal appears in a park because Twilight messed up a spell), then its DeM in my book.
I'm still waiting on that sequel to Rose Reverie, dammit!
