While we're on the subject of extra races, would you recommend calling deer/antelope cloven, or should they be different?

3315298 Something different, though there could, perhaps, be a banner all such races fall under? Currently they are all the equine races, as opposed to the feline races(griffons, purrsians, sun cats)

3315400 The broader category of all hoofed creatures (and whales, go figure) is called ungulates. Equines are just zebras, donkeys and horses.

Goats and deer are not the same, but a goat that takes levels in druid can do pretty much anything you would expect a deer to do (gore, eat grass, etc.).

Except maybe jump. Deer can jump crazy high, even without a running start. When designing a new species, how much of a deer's 10-foot jump height would be a racial bonus, and how much would still require acrobatics?

Maybe deer et al should be alternate racial traits for cloven (since they do, technically, have cloven hooves). Maybe lose all of the iron stomach feats in exchange for some jumping and alertness?

3315988 Well they got their own comic, so it's not much of a stretch. On the other hand, most people would probably play them as preachy druids, and that can get old really fast.

Something else to think about: Minotaurs are already in the Pathfinder bestiary, but they are CR 4, making them much too strong to be a PC without using the optional rules for monsters as PCs (level penalty). Iron Will was a pretty imposing fellow, but was he worth a whole CR 4? Maybe not.

3315980 Bestiary 4 deer get a 50-ft. base speed, which grants a +8 bonus to Acrobatics, Skill Focus (acrobatics) for an additional +3, and Run as a bonus feat to help them jump further when they get a running start, but no inherent bonus to Acrobatics. Ponyfinder deer would probably get a 40-ft. base speed like the various other races, but a racial +2 bonus to Dexterity and either Run, Acrobatic, or Skill Focus (acrobatics) as a bonus feat could make sense.

3316029 Why not? A minotaur would be an Epic challenge for 1st-level pony adventurers, but not out of bounds for the things they might encounter.
