Not really big on fanfic writing, but when I'm in the mood I'll jot something down from time to time. I'd much rather frequent sites like YouTube, DeviantArt, and Facebook

MINECon is in the Guiness Book of World Records! (Plus the video from the convention!) · 2:29pm Aug 7th, 2015

MINECon now holds the world record for the largest convention ever held for a single - A. SIN. GLE - video game ever.

I congratulate the people of MINECon and the creators of MineCraft for this success. I play MineCraft quite a bit on my Xbox, and it's no freaking surprise really how Mojang have won the award. I love this game so much. It just lets me express my inner creativity really well, and I'm shaking with excitement for the hopeful eventual release of Command Blocks for the game!

With Command Blocks, I'll be able to make my special Legend of Zelda-based map work how I want it to! Yes, I've been making a pretty nice world on Xbox MineCraft that is based on the Legend of Zelda games. I've built one town and two temples so far, but I'm going to put in loads of cool features, like cool minigames and secret areas that you can access after finding special items in the temples of my world. Plus, once the Command Blocks come out, I'll set up awesome boss battles, including an easter egg boss battle against...

...Unique the anthro-pegasus! Yes, I'll place a very special hidden arena where players will be able to fight Unique. They'll access the area by going to a special shrine hidden within my world, and inserting hard-to-find items and getting teleported to the arena, which will only be possible with Command Blocks.

Sigh...

MineCraft...there's just...there's just something about it that is truly amazing. It's a game that is simple in its design, and doesn't sport advanced graphics or mechanics. It's just an open world where you create the stories, where you create the adventures, where you decide where to go or how to survive. It's a game that cannot and will not ever get old. People can build their own versions of MineCraft, but there will always be one true MineCraft.

And now, here is the video from this year's MINECon. If you love MineCraft as much as I do, send me a comment on my Facebook page (Kiefer Charlesworth) to let me know you do.

How many people, doe?

3302280 Let's see...one, two, three...then carry the four...multiply the two...

Enough people.

3302339 Well, I want to know what love is, I want somebody to show me, but we can't all get what we want now, okay?

Look, I would only guess that it would be close to a million people. Keep in mind this is the award for the most attended convention surrounding a single video game, NOT for a collection of video games or a genre of games in particular. And also remember that MineCraft, judging from surveys made back in 2014, had sold over 1,2 million copies and ports worldwide, so...the convention attendees have to be very large in number, likely close to the million mark.

3302443
A million? You're funny. :rainbowlaugh: San Diego Comic Con is about 40,000, and that's for hundreds of different types of media and franchises.

Just looked it up; MineCon sold 10,000 tickets, so approximately the same size of BronyCon.

3302451 Well I did say I was guessing, did I not? I'm sorry I'm no John Paxman, but I never got my degree in news coverage and reporting.

Command blocks hace been out for like forever on the computer version.

What LOZ game is it based off of?

3302627
Ah, sorry, I meant 140,000 for SDCC. :twilightblush: I looked up the stats a while back, I knew there was a 4 somewhere in there; it was 130,000 last year, so I guessed 10,000 more this year.

3302644 Well, it's not based off any particular LOZ game, the map is just following the theme.

What I want to do is set up the temples and towns for now until the command blocks are released to the Xbox 360 version of MineCraft so I can do the other things I want to do that I can't right now.

I basically want to make it so shops will sell certain items relevant to that shop (i.e the Bomb Shop shopkeeper will only sell Bombs (TNT but renamed), and etc). Monsters will spawn in certain areas when the player enters them. There will be boss battles, and a bunch of other things.

I've been watching YouTube videos to see how Command Blocks work. It's literally like writing code to make things happen in MineCraft, but I'm not making notes yet until I know if the Xbox 360 Command Blocks work differently to those on the PC version.

I've got one temple made so far, and currently working on a fire temple within a volcano I've made - I've called it Asura Volcano, after the video game Asura's Wrath. I'm putting easter eggs for people to find. :D

3302637 But I don't play the PC version, I play the Xbox version. And I'm hoping for the Command Blocks to come out before Christmas. They've recently introduced dual-wielding and shields to the PC version as part of the 1.9 Update, and since Mojang and the Xbox Arcade teams want to get as much of the PC MineCraft stuff onto the Xbox version they should be introducing Command Blocks and stuff, then bring the 1.9 stuff into it afterwards.

I keep up with the MC news. :) I'm one of the cool adults. :D

3302644 I've seen that there's a LOZ MineCraft adventure map that somebody made a few years ago. Not many people know of it due to lack of publicity but from the playthrough videos I've seen of it it looks really well made and it's a shame the guy didn't get as much recognition then for it. He even made a few new mobs for the map, like a giant fiery slug boss.

3302970 Ok. I personally find the x-box version a worse version of a bad game.

I used to love Minecraft, but it never truly changed except that it lost a certain feeling I got for it.

I don't know if it was nostalgia or that I would get that feeling if I wasn't bored of it, but I don't anymore.

3303970 Well, people have different tastes. I like MineCraft, and you just don't anymore. It's a common thing among our oh-so-wonderful species.
