    It's been a while

Hasn't it? It's been over a year since I posted a story, and longer than that since I actually watched the show. There's a few reasons for it, but I imagine the prudent question is if I'm coming back or not.

Well, the prudent answer is it's not that simple.

    Marshy's Whiskey Wisdom

Alright, down 1/3 a bottle of bourbon and bored. So what do I talk about? Uhh, lemme think.

Okay, oddly enough, whiskey fills my head with sad country music. Look up Whiskey Lullaby. That' s the main one. Technically the only one but my life is young.

    Depression

It sure isn't just being sad... Honestly, it might not be sadness at all. Feels more like... emptiness. Loneliness. Like nothing matters, and everything is distant. Like being in pain, but there's no pain. A constant sense of just wanting something to be over, even if you don't know what that something is...

Patreon Announcement · 7:52pm Aug 4th, 2015

Settle your mammaries, this isn't a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. If you'll give me a minute, I'll explain why.

Patreon has always been something I'm rather divided on. On one hand, it's nice for creators to be able to get support from their fans in a way that doesn't involve the digital equivalent of a spare change jar. On the other hand, many artists, some of whom I really liked, have taken the opportunity to put up a total, or near-total, paywall that blocked access to their work for non-donors without actually increasing the quality of their work before doing it.

For obvious reasons, that can be irksome.

One thing that's held me back from this is the general unpopularity of such a move because of such practices. That said, after a lot of thinking, and a lot of urging from a friend of mine, I've decided to give it a shot.

In doing so, I had a couple of goals in mind. The first is that, without exception, not supporting me financially wouldn't result in any penalties. It should be purely to support my creative endeavors, not see them. In other words, if you're a non-donor, you won't be punished.

The other main goal is that I wanted to offer real incentives for patrons to support me without it coming at the expense of the non-donors. That said, I think I've worked something out.

The recent hiatus aside, my usual pace since I've started posting has been about one story per month, give or take. This is because I find writing to be somewhat draining, and I usually don't have all that many ideas I want to write at the time.

Because of Saddle Up 2, which drew my attention for several months, I had a good number of ideas that piled up while I didn't have time to write them. For once, I'm actually at a loss on what to do first.

So I've decided that I can double my pace and put out two stories per month. I figure that I can post one story personally selected by me, and the other story would be selected via a Patreon vote beyond a certain tier. Some patrons will also be able to put an idea into the pool (which will consist of both mine and theirs) to be voted on each month.

So, that's two stories per month from me. One a personal pick, and the other voted on by patrons. That means that as far as the non-donors go, nothing will change except me putting out twice as many stories.

As for the donors? I've not left you out to dry either. Aside from my thanks and credit for pledging, those who donate $10 per month will be able to vote on the patron-supported story I write next.

Those who donate $15 per month will have 72-hour early access to any story I write, along with the previous incentives.

Those who donate $25 a month will be able to add their own idea to the pool (with approval from me; I have to be able to stand writing it, or we're just wasting time) and it will remain until selected by the voters or myself as my "personal" story for the month.

It goes on and on, and you can see the specifics on the page itself. But needless to say, I've done my best to provide good incentives for those of you who are interested. For those of you who aren't interested, you have nothing to worry about.

Bitch, don't tell me what state my mammaries should or should not be in. They will be settled or unsettled depending on what I say goddammit.

I sort of want people to support you right up until $999.99 just out of spite. I'm fairly certain half your followers are here for the M/M stories, with about a quarter of the remainder here for your avatar (let's be honest, Twilight as a military pone is the best).
