Dusk Shine's Saga Character Profile: Davenport · 12:26am Jul 27th, 2015
Dear Princess Luna. On this quiet winter night, I felt it appropriate to prepare another set of profiles based off other citizens of Ponyville. The last feature for today is not a foal, but a proud old stallion I'm shocked to see still working his business rather than teaching his little secrets to others. Davenport is a quiet stallion who still manages to keep up with his daughter's boundless energy, with a solid foundation in running a business.
Always at your service,
Dusk Shine
Name: Davenport
Nicknames: Dav, Old Port*
Age: 54
Birthday: November 23rd
Clan: Earth
Height: 6'2"
Weight: Approx 230-240lbs
Build: Beginning to let things go with age, but still makes many deliveries on a slow business day.
Hair: Dark gamboge, graying.
Eyes: Pistachio green.**
Cutie Mark: A quill and a sofa.***
Occupation: Owns Davenport's Quills and Sofas. Often runs Ponyville's market for his wife, the mayor, when she is busy with town business.
Scars or accessories? Plenty earned from a life of hard labor and moving furniture.
Close relationships: Wife: Mayor Mare(aka Cobalt Tresies). Daughter: Aura.
Personality: Far more stoic than his wife, Davenport had an amazing head for business and numbers. Manages both his own business and the marketplace at the same time most summers.
Skills and Quirks:
Education – Shockingly, he had no formal education as a colt. His family destitute, he worked day and night on his neighbor's farm to help care for his family as a foal. Clearly, his natural talent for business has brought him a long way.
Secondary Education – Very different from the vast majority of ponies, Davenport has spent much of his adult life learning those things he missed out on as a foal. While tutors came to teach Aura, apparently her father got just as much an education at the same time.
Business Sense – As above. Running both his own business and the marketplace should more than speak for his talent at running a shop and keeping books balanced.
* - Apparently a reference to his favorite drink, and not some hidden past as a sailor.
** - Distant relative of the Apples?
*** - Yes. Seriously. No, don't ask.
