DC: Grant Morrison critizes Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman · 10:57pm Jul 16th, 2015
Here's Grant Morrison's quote in regards to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman:
“[The warrior woman thing is] not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that’s not what he wanted at all! His original concept for Wonder Woman was an answer to comics that he thought were filled with images of blood-curdling masculinity, and you see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it’s all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston’s Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist….”
Now, I don't know if Morrison saw the finished film, or if he's in the same boat as the rest of us mortals, and only going on the various promo materials that Warner Bros. released. Either way, I agree whole heartedly with him. The Wonder Woman that they seem to be going for (given the complete LACK of anything even resembling an explaination as to why she's even in this fucking movie), goes completely against the Wonder Woman ideal of a wise, noble woman who stands up for what's right and for truth and justice.
Batman v. Superman's Wonder Woman looks like a bitter, angry thug who shows no signs of grace or wisdom at all.
Thank you Grant Morrison for putting into words what I couldn't.
This movie's gonna suck.
I hate to admit it, but even I agree with Morrison on this and I usually am not a big fan of Grant Morrison Comic book work.
3244008 Intriguing; how so?
Maybe the DCU is an adaption of those god awful All-Star Batman and Robin books, where every bodies and asshole.
3244161 that would explain a lot

When was the last time anyone ever saw Wonder woman be a multi tasker like she used to be ?
Also I'm often not a big fan of Morrison's work considering how confusing it can get to me. Also, how it could barely make sense in terms of storyline sometimes and can go BEYOND what is regular story telling.
3244292 You mean like having multiple skill-sets? Being a nurse, scientist, ambassador, and spy in addition to warrior?
That's fair enough. Morrison's work can be a bit bizarre and high concept for some readers.

That is exactly what I mean when describing early Wonder Woman. I mean her society is supposed to be a bit advance in terms of modern day medicine. as well as do politics
3247392 I've always leaned more towards the versions of the Amazons that are less scientifically advanced, but I agree that her skill-set should be more varied. Her medical, political, and espionage skill-sets are especially intriguing.
