Yo! What the heck is up with the download versions?! I wanted to use the epub or txt files so my brother could help me with my story, but when I printed either one all the bold and italics text was normal. So I say again, what the heck?!

Um. If you downloaded and printed the TEXT export, it's rather normal you lost the formatting. Bare text kind of doesn't have that.

That said, the epub download of fimfic needs some serious work, yes :facehoof:

3239790 I like to download the epub's and read them on my kindle. It's easier on my eyes. So if there's a formatting error then I could lose some context. My own stories take advantage of formatting.

Yeah... I looked at the internals, and I can confirm, the epub export actually strips out all formatting. Wow. It seems images are stripped out as well, rather than included in the epub and embedded.

I usually just download the HTML exports of the pages. Hardly ideal either, mind you, since that misses the style sheets, which includes the formatting for paragraphs (indentation and line distance) and block quotes in the text. I need to run it through a couple of RegEx search-and-replace runs before I even dare opening it in a browser :unsuresweetie:

HTML and EPUB now include basic formatting.
