I really don't make enough of these things. · 6:12pm Jul 10th, 2015
Then again I'm not the most active person here. But the writing pace has picked up a bit, Shield Contingency is... well, still progressing slowly, only at about a chapter per month, which is lame since I could likely be doing a chapter per week. I quite expect it to be, when it's finished, my longest single story ever. With Season 5 in progress, and the story not even close to the point where Tirek comes into play, there's a lot to do. It may easily reach over 100k words. Season 6 will likely begin before I finish, which just means it'll end up being even longer. Unless I decide to separate out the stories for 1 per season. I could do that. Shield Contingency could end after Tirek is defeated, and another story begin with Season 5, somehow. Or, another thing I could do, I might try going back and rewriting the first two stories and combining all three into one, which could inevitably turn into some big 300k word monster or something.
But before I end up doing any of that I need to get one of my original works published... which is coming along more slowly than I'd like. Edit sweep after edit sweep. The 'real world' of writing is much more aggravating than doing this. Still learning a lot through it though, and I'll always be happy for more experience. Means I could rewrite the first two Royal Guard stories to be not so terrible. Don't even think I'd bother trying to edit/rewrite what's already there, I'd just start it all over again and use what's already there as a guide. Whole thing in first person, more in depth with Swordulan's character and more detail. We'll see. But like I said, before that happens I need to get original work out there and then finish Contingency.
