Dear Princess Luna, to help form a better picture of the population of Ponyville, I thought I’d provide you with a selection of profiles based off a random selection of ponies rather than simply one or two at a time. As our last letter of this set, I want to introduce you to the oldest mare I’ve ever met besides yourself and your sister, the venerable Granny Smith.

Name: Marie Ann Smith
Nicknames: Granny Smith*
Age: 158**
Birthday: July 1st***
Clan: Earth
Height: 5’3” (5’11” when she stands up straight)****
Weight: 240 odd lbs.
Build: A plump old mare, but a happy one.
Hair: Solid white-gray. (A light yellow when she was a filly)
Eyes: Light brilliant orange.
Cutie Mark: A classic Apple Pie, in a dish on her right hand
Bust Size: Moderate-heavy.
Occupation: Retired farmer. Still helps around the farm despite her old age.
Scars or accessories? Many old ones, and a pair of apple pie earrings that match her cutie mark, an old anniversary gift from her husband who had expired many years ago.
Close relationships: Almost too many to mention. From AJ, her great granddaughter, to her distant cousins and nieces and the like, such as Apple Rose, Auntie Applesauce, and even Goldie Delicious, who claims to be the next oldest member of the family.
Personality: A keen old mare. She knows far more about others then she lets on, and still has a sharp wit, and a sharper tongue than most who underestimate her.
Skills and Quirks:
Lifetime Farmer – This leads to too many skills to ever list. An experienced old mare, she has farmed, and ran the farm for four or five times longer than I’ve been alive. She has built barns, dams and half of the building that stand in Ponyville. She has farmed everything from corn to cattle, and loves to offer advice on nearly any topic she finds amusing at the time.
Earth Pony – Despite her age, Granny has the strength that proves she is still the head of her clan. She might still be able to challenge even Applejack, no matter how far she is from her prime.
* - The source of much confusion, Granny Apple is in fact the great grandma of Applejack and her brother and sister.
** - Based on the fact she claims she was fourteen or so years old when her father founded the Apple family orchard, and thus founded Ponyville. If true, it makes her the oldest known pony excluding Princess Celestia and Luna
*** - There are no records of her birth, and she claims she has long ago forgotten when it was, so instead, she celebrates her birthday on the same day as the foundation of Ponyville, since she’s been here since the day it was founded.
**** - This is a very rare event.
Wow, Granny Smith is ancient and a tough lady if the reports of her strength are true.
