Dear Princess Luna, to help form a better picture of the population of Ponyville, I thought I’d provide you with a selection of profiles based off a random selection of ponies rather than simply one or two at a time. Next, I want to introduce you to Ponyville’s most popular teacher, and the head administrator of Ponyville’s only school, Miss Cheerilee.

Nicknames: Sunny Smiles, Miss Cheerilee, Cheery, Cheerilee Pie.
Age: 30
Birthday: July 30th
Clan: Earth Pony
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 188 lbs
Build: Middling between fit and moderate.*
Hair: Pale light rose slightly grayed in hues, with light cerise-ish gray stripes.
Eyes: Grayish harlequin green.
Cutie Mark: Three smiling yellow daisy flowers on her right cheek.
Bust Size: Ample but polite.
Occupation: Head teacher of Ponyville School.
Scars or accessories? A bad bruise on her right shoulder, an old knife scar on her stomach.**
Close relationships: Cheery Blossom, Twin sister. Parents, retired in Canterlot. No known suiters.
Personality: Very even-natured and considerate, but with a defensive streak to the young minds she tries to help educate. Can get quite heated if somepony tries to take advantage of the foals in her care.
Skills and Quirks:
Music Lover – Both music and dance in fact. She holds dance classes as a ‘fitness and fun’ activity for anypony interested.*
Earth Pony – While not as powerful as others of her clan, she has incredible stamina and patience with ponies that rivals even Big Mac.***
* - Stories from those who know her, have suggested that Miss Cheerilee used to be a dancer / waitress in a Canterlot bar while she was getting her schooling.This helps explain her enjoyment of music and fit nature.
** - According to her medical documents, both happened during her time in Canterlot. One time a balcony collapsed while she walked under it, the other when she was jumped by a mugger on a walk home. Bad business. Very foul.
*** - The best example was the time when she somehow managed to keep three classes running in the school by herself when all of her teachers came down ill at the same time when Filthy Rich had been considering moving his family to Canterlot. When the Apples reminded him the school was part of their deal for his share of the Zap Apples, things were finally resolved peacefully, but that still took three days. It’s a wonder she only has a few gray hairs.
Cheerilee seems to have an interesting background.
So, if Filthy Rich and his family left Ponyville, the school would either go with him or lose his funding. Which bring up the point that Diamond Tiara will have to stay in Ponyville when she takes over her father's business. Is she aware of this yet?
3191958 the agreement requires the rich family to provide an education for the Apple clan as a whole as good of an education as their own foals recieve. Granny's Da was aware he wasn't the brightest stallion and letting granny and her cousins join his fals for classes was easy for Filthy Rich's grandfather. Now the Apple clan has grown, and Filthy is responsible for most of the funding for Ponyville school. And a lawyer could easily argue that if he moved his daughter somewhere else, that it would increase what he had to pay because the education standards in say... Canterlot, are much higher, and thus to keep the agreement alive, he'd have to insure parity or reasonable faxcimilies. As for DT? She is aware, but someday she will become a good mare and fondly remember her hometown schooling and not mind funding it, or she'll be forced to fund it in court. Only time will tell.
