AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FANBOY SQUEE!!!! i JUST GOT SOME ( glancing) ATTENTION FROM A FIMFIC HERO. · 3:15am Jun 20th, 2015

Do you see that happy goober? what on earth could be making him so happy ?

well the happy goober is your humble correspondent. I took this picture like ten minutes ago when I got the news.

The paper , if you can read it, says PEN STROKE FAVORITED THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pen Stroke is the author of course of Past Sins. I am rather fond of that story. As in it is ranked second in my all time favorite list.

Also this might have hinted at my affection for Past Sins and especially Nyx. come to think of it this might have been an even bigger hint.

As for " favorited the story".... no not one of mine ( not yet, a man can dream)

well go to Pen Stroke's user page and then look at his library at the right has a new section entitled " Great stories involving my characters" you will see one entry . Now I don't think this will remain the only entry for too long. But it is the first entry.

So what was the very first story involving Nyx that Pen Stroke himself has selected as being " Great?"

Recon 777's Nightmare Nyx Protector of Ponies.

Which is exceedingly awesome given how relatively unknown Nightmare Nyx Is. Multiple stories not written by Pen Stroke involving his characther Nyx have made the Featured Box. Nightmare Nyx is NOT one of them. That this story beat out those much more well known stories to gain the honor of being the first story that Pen Stroke lists as a great use of his charachter means that Pen Stroke sees something in this story akin to what I have been seeing in it for a good year now.

In a way you can actually see " Nightmare Nyx " be born in the comments section of my Attempted Kidnapping of Nyx This comment right here, is I believe, Recon777's first public mention of the idea. Right there in the last sentence. My reply was to tell him... so why don't you become a writer? Why don't you tell this story? Next thing I know he emails me an outline with SIX HUNDRED action points. Just an incredible ocean of ambition. The scope of the thing is absolutely an astonishment. For a lover of long epic worldbuilding stories, it was too much of a lure. I told him that I would help him write it , as much as I could.

Five months ago the first chapter went up. I announced it's arrival with this blog post In it I lay out the development of Nightmare Nyx in more detail , as well as explore the premise of Nightmare Nyx. I ended that blogpost with this :

: I am convinced this is the best story written since the original Past Sins to have Nyx as its main characther

I Still stand by that . And while it would be presumptuous to state that Pen Stroke agrees with my assessment, he quite obviously thinks the story is of high quality. Perhaps this finally, will allow people to overlook that red stain caused by a kneejerk wave of downvotes by a downvote brigade on the very first day the story was up.

So if you take anything out of this it is what follows: If you in anyway shape or form like Past Sins or Nyx ( or Fallout :Equestria for that matter) You should really really really check out Recon 777's Nightmare Nyx Protector of Ponies. At least now you Know that Pen Stroke himself thinks that Recon777 is doing a good job with Nyx's charachter. ( given that my role in the team assisting Recon777 is essentially a " charachter editor" I can personally verify that lots and lots and lots of work has gone into making sure that all the characters, and most especially Nyx, stay in characther and are fully fleshed out. I assure you that outside of Pen Stroke and Batty Gloom no one has thought as long and as deeply about Nyx as Recon777 and his team)

So yeah seriously, you owe it to yourself.go read Nightmare Nyx protector of ponies.

One last thing, it is only in chapter three that you begin to get the slightest inkling of the sheer size, scope and scale of where this story will take you.

Count me all colors of excited! :pinkiehappy:

I just posted about it on my blog as well.

Now I don't think this will remain the only entry for too long. But it is the first entry.

Still is, apparently. :raritywink:
